Axe or Scythe

Which one should I be using, Scythes are my personal choice as they are really powerful, but painfully slow. I dunno whether i should change to axe coz they're faster but then i probably wont do enough damage...:confused:

well look at it like this. with a scythe you will be doing more damage then your pet, thus you will be attacked more then your pet would. because you would be generating alot of hate,

with an axe you get speed with decent attack. also you benifet from the off hand being a sheild. with means more def, an another way to ward off a monsters atk. another thing thats good is later on you get more powerful weapon skills then you would with a scythe. another thing is your axe will be doing as much damage as your mob. thus the hate is balanced out. instead of all on youl

the miss conception is that players think your not doing damage cause there isnt a big number. but the speed of the scythe is = to 2 swings of a axe. so if you hit for 42 damage with a scythe in 1 long hit. you will already have done 2 hits averaging 22 a swing. you really end up =,

i have drk an war in the 60's. so both weapons are maxed. but i do keep a scythe in my inventory just incase..

Your pet can't dominate hate for some time. So until higher level, you're better off with an axe (or a dagger, for that matter XD)

But it's nice to keep scythe leveled anyways. I mean, what do you do when you're 40k tnl? >.<

at end game events, you can either use a sword for spirits within spam (broke 500 damage as taru bst was hard XD but managed to do it 3x to Aspi the other day ^^)

or you can use a scythe.

Bst are good and handy with axes. Axes are awesome. But really, the price of a GREAT axe is out of control.

Juggernaut is like 5 mil+ on bismarck. Other stuff all range in the 800k - 3 million marks.

Scythe is actually a very good alternative to axes simply due to cost. You can get a scare crow scythe or shuzaku's scythe farily easily (at least compared to a juggernaut). King Maker is really cheap and really good too.

Get spiral hell at lv 75. You will be surprised how well this thing can do. Get to 300% tp and it is really awesome carnage espically if you sub thf and sata it for those NM's that this is allowed.

Rampage and Decimation are good ws's but compared to a 300% sata Spiral Hell they don't measure up as well.

Other cases will have you using a sword anyway for spirits. No point in axes or scythes in those cases.

For lving up purposes, go with axe. Keep scythe capped but lv up with axe after it caps.

You can do all your weapon cap catch ups at lv 56 if you choose to go to bostinoux oubligate.

Next big catch up place is lv 75 on pretty much whatever you want XD.

Uh... wow? I also went there, and maxed out my scythe.
GET OUTTA MY HEAD, lol.

But yeah, Jug is 7M on my server. And it sells about once a week.

Susaku's Scythe (sp?) is free grabs as well, since no one wants it

is Fransisca a good weapon to use at 63? or did you guys use something else? as for jugg it is indeed a sweet stat weapon, the only problem is it is off a hnm mob. an most times then not, it goes to a bst or war after the kill.. an rarely goes up for sale. as with our server, i see maybe 1 every other week..

Fransisca doesnt really offer anything useful to a BST except 2 more dmg than the Kabrakan's axe. Considering Kabrakans has +3 MND, +3 CHR, and adds random slow effect to mobs, it's far superior for reg exp'ing. If you went BST/NIN at 63, I think dual weilding Kabrakan and Fransisca would be cool though.

As for which is better, I like axe for the most part, but I try to keep Scythe skilled up best I can. Right now, my axe is capped and Scythe is only a couple points away from it. Rampage OWNS any WS available for scythe up to spiral hell, but that is level 75.

Early on its very difficult to cap scythe since it does too much damage and the mob will always turn to you when you hit it. Mine went uncapped for a long time in the 40-55 range, but I managed to cap it again.

By the way, what can you skill on in Bousineaux Oblablah @ 56?

DC slime vs VT and T bats.

I recommend it here because you will rarely steal agro from slime and the slime can solo the bat w/o you 90% of the time. you get to melee w/o fear or risk. and exp.

you can do em crab vs em crab in boyahada tree if you want to at lv 64 ish but it's later level and no guarantees if your EM will win vs the other Em and there's hate issues as well.


Don't forget the +4 acc on the kabrakan's.

We need all the acc we can get our hands on to survive as it is. I would never overlook this stat in choosing weapons.

well your AF1 is an axe, and it looks real sexy. I'd say stick with axe, and skill up scythe at same time (or keep it capped at each level).
