  • Accuracy or Evasion

What do you guys go for when buying gear, I try to go for both... Currently I have Bucklers Shield (+2 Accuracy I think) and Hand Armor that also gives (+2 Accuracy) And for Evasion I have Emp Hairpin +10, Amelets Mantel +2 I think, and a couple other stuff . I also have Nobles ribbon, Monster Signa, loyalty Rings etc for about 42 base chr + 20 yet I still fail charms when I dont need to! I failed charm on a dam lvl 25ish seeker bat! I fail charms on Dhalmels when I dont need to, and I'm afraid to fight out in the open jungles with gobs loose and a fail occur so I have to run around and keep re-charming! >< I have mad evasion gear yet I get hit often. I have enough + accuracy that I shouldnt miss 5-6 times in a row on a big as$ tough or Vt dhamel, when it has a sliver of health left and it scores 2 criticals and "stomp" >< putting me in red zone till I finally connect. Maybe its just me...

-On a good note though I got my AF Axe last night but damn the gil farmers up there killing all the giants >< strange enough I got the drop after killing a stonemason, with 2 links but I ended up dying I didnt care that I died I just cared that I got the key, someone finally came along and raised me then I saw the chest in the open left side room that made my day

Congrats on AF1. I think you shouldn't worry about evasion too much. BST evasion isn't amazing to start with, so even with concentrating on boosting it, you'll never see the sort of results you want to see (i.e. Ninja kind of evasion). I tried the same thing, but still used to get hit. It was like, what's the point? So I just focused on solid def and good accuracy.

And remember, a jack of all trades is a master of none.

Regarding AF... I already have a Delkfuts key, so all I have to do is find chest after I accept quest. My main concern is if I can open the chest as RDM. It would be much easier to navigate the tower without aggro worry as RDM.

Good info lily! I figured it was kinda useless to stock up on evasion gear but oh well guess I'll grab some mp gear along instead.

Yeh Gman I accepted the quest as BSt, went as Rng, got the key item from the chest, and changed back to Bst and spoke to Brutus. I'm working on Whm and Blm all week Gman, so I'm giving you time to catch up I finally made it out the dunes with whm so now gotta finish lvl blm to 16-17. Geez I hate that place with a passion.

Worth trying tho, if for personal experience. I tried around mid 40s, and as I said I still seemed to get hit fairly often, so all this +eva gear didn't seem to amount to anything useful, in my eyes. Yeah the extra mp might be more beneficial. Have a /heal macro that swaps out stuff to +mp gear, and perhaps use that after you've told your pet to start fighting the mob. Then with the excess mp you're getting from the +mp gear you can use it to paralyze/slow/dia, before switching to fighting gear, and dropping back to your standard mp - if that makes sense. That's what I used to do in garlaige, though by that lvl my paralyze/slow was virtually resisted all the time anyway. :X But you get the idea. ;x

Catching up will take a miracle. 9 levels is a lot, but even if I can get to 35, at least I will get the ability to gain more exp rather than taking a cut all the time. You were right, level 31 is pretty slow. Everything seems to be only tough or decent. In Korroloka, in area with clippers/pugs, in spider pathway, all the spiders were decent challenge, so they could hardly put up a fight with a Tough pug.

On top of all that I seem to be failing charms more often lately too. It got me killed yesterday when I tried to charm an EM leech and i failed, aggroing the 3 others nearby. Stupid move, as I should have tried to charm a DC leech but I was kinda distracted.

I havent ~lost~ my motivation to level BST, but its getting pretty annoying, especially when you die and erase 30 mins of work.

Good Stuff Lily! Man why couldnt you guys join the Caitsith Server when you started. Theres hardly any BST that actively play on my server, the most I've seen was 20 on the entire server at primetime. I know when I get 50+ and try to get the rest of my AF's its gonna be a pain considering most BST AF Quests sounds tough, and I dont have a Linkshell with alot of high lvlers, or even a all BST LS at that >< . Man I hope I can get some help for AF's later down the line for BST instead of paying for help like I was doing with RNG and getting ripped off. I retired RNG cause of no help with AF's. /Sigh.

Oh well I know exactly how you feel Gman, but just stay focused 35 is right around the corner after that its "Smooth Sailing", I went from 35-40 in a weekend with lots of diversions. So beleive me it gets entirely easier. I'm glad this wasnt a low lvl move now that I think about it, or there would probably be toooooo much bst around. It felt good to earn it. Unlike alot of skills for other jobs. You're almost there buddy.
