Galka BST

I saw few of them around, but if there are some it should work. Planning to play BST after 300 levels of PTs, but I'm scared about WHM subjob (my MP sucks) and about CHR (is it so low compared to other races?). Are Astral Rings really necessary? Thx

if you got your RSE gear, you will be much better off than say a taru bst.

Most bst sub in and out of MP gear. Even at lv 50, a taru bst won't have enough MP to raise. I still don't have enough to raise at lv 56 bst. Need MP gear to get around to cast buffs.

At lv 40, a galka bst vs taru bst has 200 more HP AND almost 100 more MP!!

After AF's and stuff, you will have ultra crappy MP but just wear some RSE/MP gear and you'll do fine. HP's are much more useful.

During a fight, stopping to cast cures is almost counter productive. You're better off with more HP's to finish off a mob than MP's

I was talking to a level 45BST/BRD that was Galka and he said it's a really good subjob. I'd suggest looking into that if you're too worried about mp.

Would BST/BRD even have MP? What would they use it on? o_O

If he's too worried about low MP, go with a job that is helpful and doesn't have mp... O_o;

This is very interesting since BST has always been a pet project of mine. However, how exactly would BRD help? Not meaning to incite flames, I honestly don't know how... since you can only have 1 song at a time and no instrument... are you just going to cast Peon (or whatever the hp/sec song is) constantly? I guess that might be useful... but wouldn't NIN be a better no-mp subjob? (this is all theoretical on my part, never tried any of these)

a brd sub won't help. if you're in a bst pt post-50 one person could sj brd and keep ballad on to eliminate any downtime for MP, but that's about all I can think of that would make it useful. You're still welcome to do that combo though, in the first few levels it could actually be useful once you get paeon1. Bring your own Reraiser.

if you can get 2 astrals (+50mp) that'll be more than enough to cover you for a while. If you can wait till RSEs, just use those and you're all set. Unless things get really ugly you won't be using much MP at all in the first place; things get even easier once you can SJ blink (add stoneskin if you're fighting mobs with AoE).

ya bst pt setup for my lv 65 friends are

taru bst/whm
hume bst/whm
galka bst/brd

the /brd helps with ballad and occasional sleep/trenody that doesn't really land and requiem that also fails to land alot. But hey, they all have melody earrings and they like to have that latent effect active at some point in their carreers at least. Madrigal sometimes helps alot too espically on IT's.

Besides, the galka bst/whm only had like 70 MP at lv 65bst/32whm. You aren't missing too much. The other 2 bst's got you covered in these situations. Also /brd helps to even it out for galka chr vs hume and taru.
