  • BST/RDM vs. BST/WHM?

The only spells I seem to use with /whm sub so far are Protect, Dia, and Cure. Seems like there are certain segments where RDM sub's spell repertoire is no worse than WHM's and in some cases better. Like from level 10-21, /whm doesn't have Cure II yet, and there doesn't seem to be many cases during that range where -na spells are an absolute necessity. RDM would serve better there right?

if you're hunting where you don't require status cures then i don't see any problem with /rdm.

The only time I could see trying to actually use rdm in place of whm is post-64, and only when you're fighting mobs such as beetles that would require dispelling. even that's not "necessary," as there are other hunting grounds available as well.

I did Bst/Rdm until level 21. I got sick of being poisoned, not having much MP, etc..., and started levelling white mage just as a sub for BST. IMO it's much better.

Barpoison only increases resistance, it still cuts into your EXP and creates downtime... WHM gets barpoisonra anyway...

          Poisona is MUCH better...

seeing as bst has no enfeeble skill, would dispell even land? I'd imagine resist rates to be very very high. I can't even get paralyze to land anymore and this is at 40/20.

Would phalanx be a good excuse to use rdm? I know it doesn't help that much vs IT's but maybe weaker enemies like EM's that bst end up fighting??

from what i hear sj dispel lands ~70% of the time.

By the time you get to that level though, you can fight bombs in ifrit's or gobs in terrigan, neither of which necessitate dispel...

do en spells do anything at higher levels? my rdm is lv 1 but I might lv it for fun if I get a phalanxy via bcnm but that's about it.

Hrm... is there any hope of landing gravity on mobs at high lv's via ###/rdm?

and as a total aside, if you got rdm and cast blaze spikes on yourself, would it stack with Ice spikes that would be active on say an ice shield or would it get canceled out by the equipment?

Anyone ever try having both ice and blaze spikes equipment on them at the same time? What happens?

                    whm > rdm, period

divine seal, more MP, auto regen, -na, teleport, erase, chr boost

if you still can't agree with me, go rdm.

yes I agree with you straden but I'm just trying to come up with some reasons that rdm would still be a viable choice somehow

or at least point out some of rdm's strong points just for the sake of argument.
