Once I hit 60 with my main job (MNK/WAR) in a few days I think I am going to take a bit of a break from the normal EXP grind and level up some other jobs.
BST is one that I have always wanted to try, and was even the first advanced job I unlocked (even though I have yet to level it up any).
What I was wondering is about subjobs. BST/WHM seems to be the norm, but I can't ever recall a time when anyone actually said 'why' that is the best combo.
From a standpoint of self healing and 'toolbox' spells (Protect, Dia, etc...) RDM seems to be better than WHM. You would get about 8%-10% less MP with RDM, but other than that I don't see many other downsides. All I have ever seen high level BST in Boyhada Tree use is Cure spells on themselves, and a RDM can use those just as good a a WHM sub - and RDM can even do some things in a clutch situation that a WHM couldn't, like cast an emergency Black Magic spell to get the final blow on a tough mob or use the self-Bar spells, or even the En-spells (although....why you would use an En-spell as a BST is beyond me... )
What is it exactly about the WHM sub that makes it superior? I'm just curious as to know. I don't think I have ever seen it explained once....?
