That's the best answer I've heard so far. ;p Whether it's true or not I don't know, but nice theory.

Well I think this is the point of this argument is not on erase (I said it was off topic) if enfeeblements are based on MND or INT.

I say enfeeblements are based on INT and you are saying they are based on MND.

      any 3rd opinions?

I would guess it's for people who want to sub rdm, blm or drk. I'll be starting bst properly soon and I'm gonna be subbing rdm for the same reason I chose rdm originally - a nice mix of spells. Besides, my whm is only 15, so it won't get my bst too far in the long run.

As an RDM I should have a clear understanding of enfeebles, so here it is:

          MND:

Any white magic enfeeble is based on mind and enfeeble skill. Such as: Slow, Paralyze, Silence, Dia.

          INT:

Any black magic enfeeble is based on int and enfeeble skill. Such as: Dispel, Gravity, poison, etc...

Any black magic elemental enfeebe is based on int and elemental skill. Burn, choke, rasp etc...

Any balck magic darkness enfeeble is based on int and darkness skill. Bio, absorb-xxx, etc...

I have little understanding of how banish works, my divine magic is sitting at a pristine 5, and enfeeble last time I checked was 267 or something obscene like that.

Ok guess I stand corrected. Thanks for clearing it up Altruist.

So I guess that means that +INT on the helmet would be to help us resist blm enfeebles ... hrm... I wonder if then INT would also help decrease blm spell damage too then. or is that based on MND too?

It will give you minor resistance to int based spells, however it will be much lower than the passive trait magic defense.

I believe the caster's INT is compared to the cast-upon's MND just like STR is compared to VIT in the damage equation. I believe neither MND nor INT have nothing to do with resisting the spell, they only affect the duration of efeebles or the damage of spells. Im not sure on that. Another thing to mention is that probably (and this is my own guess) the caster's Enfeebling/Elemental/Dark skill is compared to the cast-upon's Enhancing skill to determine the resistence probability, just like ATK is compared to DEF in melee combat.
