An additional use for Charm?

Hello all. I am new to the Beastmaster job class so I have been messing around with it a bit in order to understand the ins and outs. Now I have read everywhere that Beastmasters can't tame things like yogudas and goblins. Well I still tried one time and was suprised to see the message, "The Yoguda Initiate is bound". I wasn't sure if this was some battle spam from another battle nearby so I tried it again a few moments later on a goblin with the same effect. Is this something old that I never heard of? I haven't been able to find anything else in the forums about it. The bind usually only lasts a few moments, if at all, but this may also be due to my low level (almost at 10) and the fact that I have no charisma + equipment. So far it has saved my life once when my pet died and I "Charm Bound" a tough mob long enough to give me a headstart to the zone. So has anyone else been using this?

yeah, you cant bind beastmen or undead. it just binds them for a second or two. i used that if i had any problems leveling up in ghelsba. it does actually help quite a bit, if you really need to get away.

Do you know if there is a possible link between charisma and bind time? Not quite up to a level to test this theory yet.

no relation at all , having more chr doesn't help binding =P

yea i got that message when i tryed to charm a tainted hound. its a pitty. i really wanted to run around with one following me.
but i didnt know that it could bind beastmen even if its for a couple seconds. that all you really need to make a hasty retreat.

Ya the bind time is totally random..
I am level 46 and even when charming level 1's in ronfaure bind only lasts 1-3 seconds.

Another little trick with charm is for claiming NMs, like Hoo Mjuu which I am currently camping. Charm has longer a longer range than provoke, and after some testing I believe it is also slightly faster...
