Proficiency with Scythe?

Ok, after the patch was implemented I noticed that they did something with Scythe for BST, like upped its pro. I am seeing a lot more JP BST's on my server use Scythe over Axe. Anyone know the new grade on Scythe? If its B, i might as well lv Scythe up since I max out my Axe every new lv in 3-4 battles ;P

If you max out axe theres no harm doing Scythe to pass the time but the WS arent so great...

I was wondering the same thing before the patch came out, should i use scythe or axe. I asked all the high level BST on my server and they told me to use axe. But now that u mention in upgrade in scythe for BST, im interested again in using scythe and where i can find what they did for it exactly.

The main problem with scythe I think is you need to sub DRK to get all the WS... and especially sub DRK for guillotine which sort of diminshes the whole usefullness of scythe if you can't use guillotine (I bet warrior sub would probably be just as effect with using axe but I will probably test this some other time). Having scythe skill might be handy for doing renkei with the thief also (much easier to renkei with than axe I believe) tihs is if you're in a PT of course.

So is the Scythe a B+ wep for bst now?

If we sub war for bst, what WS will be unusable?

I started lvling up scythe when I was a lil BST, and now I keep that and 1H Axe maxed out each lvl. It's useful if you want to do different renkei in a party, but I like having a shield too. It was just to give me options when I was higher lvl.

A site I was using to check lvls of weaponskills had scythe as a C grade weapon, so it's possible it might be a B grade now, and the rate at which my skill goes up kinda supports it.

Only use I see for scythe is for renkei-ing, specifically if you are in a PT with thf and need to do something such as vorpal > dancing etc. Guillotine is not only a DRK skill it's also SP, meaning BST can never learn it. This makes scythe nearly useless in the long run especially for solo play. 1hand axe is unfortunately the only decent way to go with the good scythe WSs being drk SP (meaning only drk can ever use them).

that kinda sucks. i was hoping to get more use out of my Scythe at higher levels...

oh well...

anyone know what WS are available if you sub WAR? in all honestly, i had no idea that your sub-job might affect your WS abilities.....
