BST solo not necessarily because they have to, but because it's often more efficient than waiting for a PT and it can be more fun playing on your own time instead of 5 other people. Being a BST and having a good levelling spot is like having a mediocre PT all the time.

im still confused on the whole thing, if your animal stays alive during battle u loose 30% of exp that doesnt make sence, in order for you to win, he has to stay alive

The whole trick of playing BST is getting your pet to die right before the fight ends or releasing your pet right before the fight ends, then you finish off the last 2-5% of the enemies life and get the full exp (no 30% cut).

Hey star what is your opinion about BST and BRD? i cant decide which one to be, and i see that you have them both at high levels. So do you have any input on those jobs?

              thx Lily

as far as brd vs BST, brd is very useful in a PT/alliance setting. Bard is about as pure as a support job as you can get though which is one reason I stopped playing BRD. Even a whm/blm can solo more effectively than a brd.
