Beast Tamer perks?

Beast tamer sounds incredibly sweet. I am thinking about making another character a beast tamer but what would be good points about them. I mean it sounds cool enough just being able to Tame animals and creatures. Also what weapons do they use?

they are masters at one hand axe, that is their most powerfulest weapon. the thing with beastmasters is that you can solo through most of the game and rake up exp much faster then most 6 member pts. if you group up with another bst and both of you know what you are doing then you can chain monsters and rake up way more exp then what some 6 member pts could do.

Yes that is very true,i only know 2 bst in beta,Stephen was to high for me to Party with,since there were only 3 bst in beta over lvl 40 i could only pt with my friend ferralxenobia,we could take on anything IT with ease,depending on how aggresive the monsters were.But yea u can chain or atleast get 500 exp easily in like 20-30 with a PT of 2 bst.Once you get past lvl 25 bst is much easier to handle,u dont have to solo all the time,since ur axe skills is high,theres nothing wrong with partying up with a group.

Sounds fun. I dunno what I would want to go with support but Beast Tamer always did sound like a fun job and now I know its a useful one to! This is great. Now I just pick a sub job. Thanks guys.

Yay lol after pTing with him kill some IT we know the rights and wrongs of what to do. I say go bst/war or bst whm or blm,cause when u dont wanna solo u can join parties and stuff. Number one rule for bst is not to melee as much or ur screwed,and from there just be careful at what ur trying to kill and you should be fine

If you got any questions about BST, feel free to give me a PM, im 50 BST (gd genkai1 taking ages). Best parts about BST is u dont have to mess around finding a PT, u just go a straight solo, also a 2man PT can chain totetote's pretty easy, 3 BST is the ultimate PT though.

what many people dont understand is to be a BST you must be able to heal yourself, when your fighting tsuyoi without alot of accuracy equip ure gonna miss quite a bit, now when you release your pet, your not gonna have a tank but yourself. And its gonna hit you hard (hell were not PLD's). I myself have spent like 500k on accuracy equip and can hit totetote's most times but this is the problem i had before. I'd end up winning with not alot of HP left just as it took quite a long time to hit that mofo, this is why healing is imperative. As a BST you must chain to get Good EXP and not having a heal ability is gonna take that away fromy you. With WHM you get Regenn, the LvL25 Passive HP ability, All the cures at earliest levels, Blink, Stoneskin etc.. Overall BST/WHM is the best combo, which is why you see 99/100 BST on Servers choosing this combo.

I have a question. Are Black Mages really powerful magic wise? Are they worth having around? Beause I am absolutly positive thats what I want. Sorry thats off topic.

ROFL, yes wrong thread topic for this one but, YES Black Mages to rack up the damage.... While playing beta BLMs were NEEDED to LVL on some monsters, it also doesnt hurt when they Magic Burst! correctly with renkeis...

You guys are forgeting one of the best parts about being a BST. MONEY! Since you are soloing most of the time you get eeevrything to yurself, hehehe. I hear BST can be very rich, almost as rich as THF's maybe.

I'm stuck between two choices of races. Summoner or Beast Tamer (I kinda wish there was a Necromancer of some kind but nope).

I hear the beast tamer is alot easy to start out with and to get to use but the summoner in the end is totaly cool. Any comments on this?

Summoner job is honestly pretty broke at the moment, at least in my opinion... rarest mage job by far.

BST is one of the hardest jobs until 35 (at least if you solo), and then after 60 becomes one of the hardest jobs (again if you still solo).

Playing BST you must have a TON of patience, but it can be a very rewarding experience at the same time.
