sub job for bard

alright..i am tired of everyone saying be a white mage as a sub...is there any other suggested sub for my future bard?? maybe red mage or black mage??

When i get FFXI i'm gonna be a Bard/Black Mage and tarutaru.
Bard gets alot of silence defence so you'll get protected when you are black mage, say something if i'm wrong

WHM has more charisma than your average job.. and charisma effects the power of some of the bards songs. On top of that WHM is a helpful sub, very popular in PTs

Blm on the other hand has rather low charisma

Bard/blm is a terrible combo, pts dont need bards to be able to use blm magic. A pt needs a bard to a back up healer thus subing whm is the best sub job for bard. However, RDM could work for sub job for bard ,but then you cant use curega when lvling as a bard.

BLM, the only sub i see fit is to use whm. Pts need a blm to able to help heal in battle.

I say Be what you want to be! Make the game fun for you! I'm gonna spin my time leveling up my bard, black mage, white mage, and ranger! Those are the 4 jobs i want to be. and when i have to chose (for like a mission or something) i will be what ever is best! omg this sounded so werid. lol. Happy fatehrs day! :-P

i agree with Nadyxes. usually bard casts curega after the battle to support whm. however, when you are lower than lvl 15, subbing whm is pretty useless since you don't get much mp except for tarus. if you are not taru, you might wanna sub war, you can taunt in case of emergency.

bards do attack homeslice!!! I just wanted to know because what will i do after singing my songs and do a little bit of healing?? just sit there no i have to fight they wouldnt assign you with a weapon if you did not have to fight sometime.....

since you can't become a bard until you do the level 30 quest. What job should i sub for whitemage (givin i choose that for my main until i can be a bard)when i do the 18th level subjob quest? Should i even use WHM for my main up to 30?

BLM or RDM sub for WHM (more MP!)

If your planning on being a BRD as your main, I would consider WHM/RDM than you could be a BRD/WHM or BRD/RDM. Both seem to be better than BRD/BLM.

I don't hear too much about WHM/RDM though. Either positive or negative. I guess the biggest problem would be WHM and RDM share many spells so you won't get as many spells as a WHM/BLM.

But if you are planning on being a BRD anyway...
