Re: Info. on gear swaps
As long as the equipment is changed before the spell/song casts, your good. On a side note, if you have the equipment swap before the spell anyway, your equipment will change before you start casting anywaym it just takes a while to display.Originally posted by EllipsesReally, it's just like pretty much every question about this game that begins with "Why." Re: Info. on gear swaps
you do not need wait commands between /equip lines and /recast lines. You can have one macro that is nothing but 6 equip changes. The effect is you see the line "Equip Changed." 6 times, spamming your chat log.
it's unknown really (at least to the best of my knowledge) if equip swaps in will affect instantaneous Job Abilities, but it seems that spells aren't "decided" until the end of the casting (the part that you can't move for).
For instance, If I start casting Utsusemi: Ichi and someone starts casting haste on me, their haste will affect me before Ichi completes, and when I mash my macro (/recast "Utsusemi: Ichi" on the line below the /ma line itself), I see that I get the lowered recast, not the standard 30 second one. AKA, Haste affected Utsusemi in time because the spell was not completed.
Another example is light staff. If you equip in a light staff while casting a cure spell, no matter how small, it'll be equipped in time to give the full benefit.
I'd also like to point out that when you do this correctly, more times than not, you'll appear to not be casting the spell. Your character will bamf out of existence for a moment, and when you come back you'll be standing still. But the chat log will say that you started casting Valor Minuet and you'll see the spell progression bar at the top.
you need to hit enter twice in order to get a separator in the forums. Browsers condense all whitespace into one. Whitespace being well... spaces. So if you hit enter once and then press Spacebar a few times to simulate tabbing for a new paragraph, it all gets crushed down to a single space.Last edited by Lmnop; 01-06-2007, 10:39 PM."And if he left off dreaming about you, where do you suppose you'd be?"
