  • Brd/nin

Seems like a FANTASTIC combo. Great for pulling and a few other things. I also think id be really fun to play, but there's only one problem. I dont have the money to level ninja AT ALL. I know that i'm not supposed to have as much money for that at t his stage in the game, but id like to know some strategies that you bards use (or any job that subs nin for that matter, couldnt really find a spot for this question...so move it if you'd like ><) that sub nin, and how you get all the money to keep those shadows castin! Btw, is there any good farming spots for a bard around my level? (33). Id like to start making some money to work twoards this. Thanks so much ^^

(Sorry if im making to many topics, but i'm grounded from ffxi and I want to have a good plan as to what im going to try to acomplish when I can get back on.)

    I dont watch anime. Sorry.

Not really looking for a crafting guide...thanks though. I just want to know where a good bard farming spot so I can save up to train NIN, and all the upsides to subbing it. Sorry if the over all request was confusing.

beehive chips and crawler silk are still the biggest moneymakers at lower levels. Just be sure you have THF subbed for TH1.

          Re: Brd/nin

Sadly, Bard is pretty ineffective at farming. Level 40 is really where you start hitting paydirt on Bard, since both Worms Turn BCNM40 and Steamed Sprouts BCNM40 sort of revolve around having a Bard (yes I know you can do Worms Turn without a Bard, but it's harder).

Until then, crafting is probably the way to go (I recommend fishing, since it has very low start-up costs, doesn't cost you money to gain levels in, can be done in a large variety of zones, and makes consistent, though relatively low amounts of money)

Thanks Icemage. Mabey i'll just level until 40 so I can start BCNM. I'll have to do some research on that also O_o, just because fishing can get soooo boring ><...

                Re: Brd/nin

to OP: well it seems that your bard level is 33, i don't recommend subbing ninja in exp parties before 65+ (correct me if im wrong, but thats the level where you really should non-stop pulling and have to maintain ur health) because before that /whm or /cor should give you more benefitts! /whm back up healing and /cor for even more supporting buffs!
                good luck

                  Re: Brd/nin

BRD/NIN sucks before lv 70 and will never shine until lv 74. Don't bother leveling up your NIN until you can cast Utsusemi: Ni with your BRD. If you want a fast cast, go /RDM and you will find it very useful.
