What is the fastest way to 10 and songs with instruments?

what is the fastest way to 10..i have been killing EP and DC's should i stick with that or kill something diffrent?? and should i make a macro for every song i get or just the ones i use the most and what instruments should i put with them?? atm i have a Cornette i use with Valor Minuet and a Flute i use with Knight's Minne and Maple Harp with Army's Paeon...r thoses good combos plz help me out!?!?!?

up to level 10 I prefer killing EM/DC non stop. It's not worth risking for EM and above and having huge downtime after every fight.
instruments, the only thing that matters imo is the +bonus on them. So it shouldn't really matter what you use. And with +bonus, it only makes the song lasts longer I think?
Keeping both skill up is good.

If you're singing Minne and the instrument has +1 Minne, that's a good combo. Other than that it doesn't matter what instrument you use for what song.

ok thx all my instruments have +1 on them soi think im doing a good job with brd i get request from blue mages for Paeon and Minuet or Minuet and Minne..so i think im doing good

Personally, I'd do this:
* Choose a dagger or sword to use to solo. Personally, I'd choose sword.
* Level to 3 normally, then learn the first Minne and Minuet.
* Get a WHM or WAR sub and:
* WAR sub: Stock up on Selbina Milk (for HP).
* WHM sub: Stock up on juice (for MP), Pineapple would be most cost efficient (at least on my server).
* With your juice, buy some Beef Jerky to up your attack power.
* Down juice and food, buff up, and begin slaughtering.
* Once you hit 5, be sure to learn Minuet, and slap that on yourself constantly.
* Once you hit 7, grab Requiem and use that on mobs with high defense.

+1 Instruments aren't an absolute must when soloing, but it certainly helps. If you want to, (you'll have to do it later anyway, once you get to 10, i order to prepare yourself for parties) I'd reccoment buying a Flute +1, Cornette +1, and Harp +1.

Pace yourself, and hack away. This may cost you a bit more money then usual, but it was the fastest way for me to get to 10. Good luck!

Once you hit level 5, start singing paeon and minne, I was able to chain EM's for a while and had almost no down time.

Just to clear this up, +1 instruments also add to the strength of their songs. i.e., Minne gives slightly more DEF with a +1 instrument as well as lasting longer.

Another thing to keep in mind is that string instruments have longer range than wind. So if you have a debuff song that you don't have a specific instrument for, use a string instrument for it to help avoid "out of range" messages.

And yes, you want to keep all three skills (Singing, Wind, String) as close to cap as possible, as it has a direct effect on the strength of your songs. This is a lot easier with debuffs than with buffs. Even then, you're going to have a hard time keeping string capped unless you make some macros just for skilling up (like tossing out a few extra threnodies with a harp in parties if/when you have time and it won't mess up a magic burst).
