a bit lost when creating my toon...

ok i wanna make a bard, but i only have a few choices to pick the main job, is bard a job you unlock at a certain lvl or there is something im doing wrong?

can i pick whm and get bard at lvl 15 or 30 or whatever the lvl is and use bard as main then whm as sub?

someone didnt read their manual
BRD is an advanced job and can only be unlocked after doing a quest at 30

Yes, you'll need to be level 30 in at least one basic job (white mage, black mage, red mage, warrior, thief, or monk) to activate any of the advanced job quests (bard, paladin, dark knight, dragoon, beastmaster, summoner, samurai, ninja, corsair, blue mage, puppetmaster). If you talk to the NPCs that start those quests without being at least level 30 in your current job, they will not give you the quest.

And yes, you can certainly use WHM as your subjob for BRD. It's probably the best subjob overall for Bards in most situations.
