bard main with puppetmaster as sub?

since the puppetmaster is a traditional performer like a bard in a way (entertain crowds and stuff) i wonder how the mix will be combining both of those class?

can they be combine, im still pretty much clueless atm about main/sub?

The ability "Phantom Roll" is a Corsair ability, not a Puppetmaster ability, so that quote above has nothing to do with Puppetmaster.

That job combination you're asking about, tnak, still might be possible. Though, if it'll be an effective and worthwhile job combination... that information won't be known until we get some players able to experience the Puppetmaster job and learn how to effectively use it.

the link doent give much info on class/sub and stuff, but if a bard can gain a bit more dps with the martial ability of the puppetmaster and adding the extra dps from the automaton,this would be a killer combo. the support of a main bard with extra dps from a robot that can be modified to fit the need of certain area for max dps

Interesting to say the least:

Leave your Maton attacking the mob while you sings your songs.

But I'm afraid at higher levels your maton will probably be too weak against the tough mobs..

Probably be as weak as brd/smn. You must choose your sub on the abilities, spells, and traits it provides.

Perhaps it may be helpful for farming or soloing low level mobs, but I can't see much other use for it...

If you're looking to solo, I'd reccomend BRD/BST, even if BST is only level 1.

Is there a way to set the puppet to heal people? If there is maybe having the puppet heal people randomly while the bard sings would be an effective strat.

I don't mean to be rude, but can you control the puppet without the Animator? If you can, then it sounds fun. If you can't your stuck with one song since it takes up the instriment slot.

I don't see how 75BRD/01BST would be the best for soloing. Charming with a BST sub goes by the level the BST to determine if it can be charmed or not (a 75BST subbed is better than a 37BST). CHR does help some but not as much as people think it does.

I've been able to solo some DC mobs as 75BRD/37WHM though it takes a while to kill things.

As for Puppetmaster as a main job using the mage frame it can cure the owner, convert, cure itself and debuff a mob. The range and melee frames may not be the best choice when subbing puppetmaster.

Yes you can switch in the Animator in your ranged slot to do maneuvers, though it might be a pain to switch it in to do them.

As for having songs up, so long as you have an instrument equipped when you finish your 2nd song you will have them both up until one runs out.
