also about the subpar thingy why not try have abit of fun with makeing jobs do other things, nin being the prime example of this being the fact when designed it was not meant as a tank but as a puller and debuffer, but hey look at it now i'm not saying everyone is going to take up the idea of useing other jobs for things but we can all have fun its a game.

Having fun with your job is one thing. Having fun with your job at your pt's expense is entirely different.
And ninja is different. It is an effective tank, arguably better than the jobs that SE meant to be tanks. I suppose you'll say next that its what you're trying to prove, that you're going to be some sort of pioneer. Good luck, and yell at me when you're able to consistently deal more damage than I am.

Caspian has a point. Just because something can be done, doesn't mean it should. I'm sure BRD/NIN has it's place. Heck, I like to solo for skill-ups as DRG/BRD! But I wouldn't bring it to a party unless specifically asked to. Likewise, BRD and RDM really shouldn't melee unless the party specifically asks you to.

I'm not unequivocally opposed to the idea. All I'm saying is there are 5 other votes besides your own. Majority rules. . .

Rai|Kye said it better but............Yes your a bard do you really think people will complain? I mean people crap in their pants when they see a bard seeking in their range for pete's sake! Your the rarest of the rare! So do you really think they want to piss you off? I don't think so. They'll let you do your pitiful melee'ing even if you miss casting songs on time. They'll just dismiss it with "Well he's ok but its better than nothing. Madrigal/Minuet/Ballad for teh win!!"

As far as your TP and "nothing you can do about it", Icemage hit it right on the head......don't melee. Attitudes like yours, where people think only of themselves, is what makes a party bad. You need to think in terms of "What can I do to make the party better?" not in "What can I do to make this more fun for myself?" When your meleeing your hitting for jack, you know it, I know it, and everyone here knows it. That pittance of damage is giving the mob TP with every hit. Now factor in that the melee and tank are hitting it too and giving it TP. So now its gaining TP faster and can do more ws's/abilities on party members. If one of those hits a member hard and kills them before they are healed, now you have downtime. If the whm has to rip off cures more often because the extra TP is making it smack the tank/dd's more, that creates more downtime. That downtime is not only affecting you, its affecting FIVE other people. REAL people, not npc's. Maybe one of them doesn't get to play often and when they do they want a good party and to get decent exp. But your selfishness is creating more downtime than necessary and now he's wasting his time in a lower than average party. You do affect more people than yourself when you put yourself over others. It's a hard concept for some people to wrap their minds around I'm sure.
