      Mahatma gear isn't worth it unless you're already rolling in dough.

      Errant = 200k. Mahatma = 1.5 mil. That's paying 1.3 million gil for 1 extra CHR.

      You could get that same +1 extra CHR by upgrading to Melody Earring +1s (for much much less), or by upgrading one of your rings (which may or may not cost loess) to the +1 version.

      Unless you already have all the best +1 gear available, it's not worth paying so much for Mahatma gear.

      And the extra +CHR is completely unnecessary for normal EXP mobs, which is why you don't see high level bards wearing it. Only time it is worn is when fighting HNMs or Gods, that require the extra CHR to debuff sucessfully.

      Edit: And saving up for Zenith Pumps, Zenith Pants, and Dalmatica are much more important than getting any of the above mentioned +1 gear.

        Errant for Body.
        AF Pants while EXPing, Errant while HNMs. Eventually get Zenith Slops.
        Dance Shoes. Eventually get Zenith Pumps.
        AF Gloves are too good to replace.

        plz let me join you!!! for those Zenith gear!

          I'm still trying to figure out why I see so many high level bards wearing that red vest. It boosts *melee effectiveness* of all things. For anything difficult, you're gonna be standing back and maging (or maybe meleeing weakling nearby things for TP for Spirits Within), and anything easy you don't need that sort of equipment to damage it anyway.

            It's because it looks sexy.

              So does a Bone/Beetle Harness - even a Bronze/Brass Harness, though I don't like the style of that quite so much - if you want something to show off your body, and you don't have to wait until the 70's (and pay for more expensive equipment) to look skanky.

              Or if you want to look sexy *and* rich, you could get a Scorpion Harness, which is quite the body-hugger, next to useless for bards compared to just about any other melee job, and definitely sends up a big red flag saying "look at me, I have money to waste!"

                Its because Errant body decrease STR and DEX by 7 so your melee damage is decreased. +4 Accuracy is usefull when you're fighting, even Easy Prey monsters. Cardinal Vest is dirt cheap and give nice little bonus. I don't need +3 Wind or +10 CHR at level 75 when I'm fighting.

                  I see. So basically it's melee equipment like the Life Belt.

                  *looks sadly at already cluttered inventory*

                      Heh, good point since -5 MND doesn't exactly help your support job.
