Okay, i'm a taru brd, so i have the traditional taru weaknesses. I was wondering about equipment, strictly in respect to armor. Should i go for the lower lvl rse stuff that gives big boosts in hp and vit, or would regular lvl 38-40 armor be better because of the higher defense? Any input would be appreciated.

Cuir +1 over RSE. I'm TaruTaru also, and when I did do BC40 I found that the Cuir +1 works a lot better in terms of taking damage and keeping your hp up. More specifically:
Weapon: Monster Signa
Range : Mary's Horn/Harp
Head: Noble Ribbon
Neck: Bird Whistle
Earrings: Enhancing Earring/Black Earring
Body: Cuir Armor +1
Hands: Cuir Gloves +1
Rings: Pearl Rings
Back: Wolf Mantle +1
Waist: Corsette +1
Legs: Cuir Trousers +1
Feet: Cuir Highboots +1

Signa is a bit more effective. Its gonna help you land Lullaby with full duration. When you don't have enough CHR gear, theres always one or two that wakes up earlier and cause some trouble. By having more CHR, you lessen the chances of half duration lullaby.BRD 75 / NIN 66 / WHM 37 / WAR 30 / RDM 23 / BST 20

After doing a fair share of BCNM 40s i came to realize that even without the signa (paper knife instead) And other cuts in chr, i had no trouble at all sleeping the mandragoras. So in my opinion a Taru BRD may want to focus on upping their vit a bit. Before you begin everything i really recomend casting minne as well. If MP is willing you can even cast blink in between sleeps and keep minne on if HP loss is a real problem for you -

Thanks for the tips guys. I think I will go with Cuir +1 armor and use the paper knife instead of signa, both because i like the idea of that much more vit, and also because i can't afford it yet ^^.
Thanks again for the info!
G1 I hate you more and more every day....
