  • +2 crh worhth 20k?

Hi! well while being bored with farming for rdm and such. I decided to do brd quest. Blah blah, got it yea.
Start lvling... wow singing is fun... lvl more... sining is fun, this is kool all these + stats and boosts i'm getting.

anyways back to the point. While looking for gear for my sissy lil taru brd/rdm i'm thinking to myself... hmm.... what to get..
    i see a headgear with +2 charm for 20k
and a few other thigns... not taht expensive.

How much will +2 chr give me in my fights with my songs up? worth the 20k? (oh its like nobles ribbon or something to btw)

i'm just wondering, how much +chr u need to actually see a difference in your song's.?

Last time I checked Nobles Ribbon is +3 CHR. I would avoid any +CHR gear that costs more than 10k at lower levels, unless you can afford it. I had +5 Charisma up until level 40 (Opal Ringx2, Bird Whistle) and I did well enough for myself. I am at the point where I am getting asked to do BCNM 40 more frequently so I have now started buying +chr equipment like crazy. You can afford to slack on Charisma in the beggining, besides most of the best +CHR stuff that isn't Mosnter Signa, comes at level 40+ anyway.
A spoony bard by anyone's standards.

"for my sissy lil taru brd/rdm "

hey i resemble that remark with the exception i use the prefered /whm but thats not what we're hear to argue.

later on when extra charisma becomes harder and harder to obtain yes it is worth 20k, ask how many people lvl 73+ would pay an extra 100k for the monster signa to be +10 or 12 charisma.

however, i've never felt charisma was as important as having +1 instruments for all relevant songs

It's always been my philosophy that charisma is the defining characteristic of a bard and should be taken to it's full potential. Rangers have agi, blms have int, melee has dex/str/agi depending on job, etc. It is easy to carry most important +1 instruments, it is hard to have a high level or maxed level of charisma. When it comes to your party dying because you were unable to sleep an add (and it WILL happen, especially in dangerous areas like deeper in CN/Boyahda/GC), charisma becomes worth every point.

It comes down to your priority and gil. Obviously your +1's carry more importance when leveling, but you don't have to go crazy and get all of them. Just get Traversiere and Cornette, and after that work on buying a mix of chr and MP gear. You should always focus more on charisma than MP. When you can afford 2 electrum rings, buy them up. They are cheap and effective, an easy 40 mp. You are also Taru so you don't need to make up for a lack of MP, you will have a nice amount as subbed whm (or rdm.. but why, rdm has so little advantages).

          I don't?

Oh well - if ever one day, many years from now, I get myself a Gjallarhorn, I can cheerfully sell back the lot of them (except those I'd use in level-capped battles) and net about 700K or so. ^^

At low level CHR doesn't really matter that much, and even at the higher levels you will get invites either way (I know that sounds half assed but it's true), just get the nobles ribbon, it's much easier and cheaper I think.

On ragnarok it's dependent on the city. I got mine for 13k in jeuno. it was 17k in sandoria, _25k_ in windurst. I didnt check bastok.

Right now i have two opal rings, a bird whistle and a noble's ribbon. It's served me well when using lullaby. I'll probably try and get a mary's horn and a signa some day, but at level 20 or so that's really all you need. I could have probably gotten away with less and no one would have noticed, lol.

Essentially +CHR is there to help you land songs on the enemy. If you haven't gotten to the point where you actively need to land songs on your enemy and/or they are being resisted too often, then you should consider getting more CHR items. However do keep in mind that the lullaby songs are offensive and that you will most likely need to land these songs on relatively high level mobs who may resist your song if you don't have a high enough CHR. Whether or not 20k is worth a few deaths when you don't land a lullaby is up to you to decide.

Another thing to think abotu is which other items you can buy...At my level I decided I needed to upgrade some stuff, and I looked. I could get two +1 chr earrings for 50k each, or I could get two +3 rings for 35k each, to replace my +2 chr rings...now you can see it's the same amount of CHR up just on different items, and I ended up saving myself a bit of money, even though I will eventually have to get those earrings soon anyways
