  • Are Bards POOR????

Hey, i was wondering maybe all you high level bards can help me.

Are bards poor? It seems that they can't really farm that much, how do you get your money? I hear BCNM is good for bards but often do you get asked to go on BCNM? Also do groups need bards for HNM fights and raids like that?

    Thanks.

Bards are useful in almost every aspect of fighting, weather it's dynamis, HNM or BCNM's, so you get asked to do those things a lot. Same with skillup and coffer hunting for Madrigal etc.

As for our farming abilities...they are pretty terrible, so you're going to have to look for your gil somewhere else.

I see but atleast people call you to do all the fun stuff like HNM/DYnamis hunting, so i betyou can get a lot of money that way.

We can slaughter piles of really weak enemies in one fell swoop with AOE WS (Earth Crusher, Cyclone) as well as anyone else. We can craft as well as anyone else. We can fish as well as anyone else.

We're at a disadvantage with NM hunting because BRD/WHM (or BRD/THF if you go for TH) doesn't have any fast distance pulling moves like Provoke or Charm. Closest you get is Dia or Elegy (or if it's right next to you and you're /THF, Steal).

(Having said that, if we can claim something, and if we can reliably sleep it and it doesn't kill us (quickly) when awake, we can solo even exp-giving NMs given enough time.)

We're at a disadvantage for farming not-quite-so-weak enemies - killable but not pathetic. Because those will die more slowly for us than for other jobs.

We're at an advantage, due to usefulness and popularity, for special events which can net valuable drops such as HNM fights or BCNM.

If you do split on BCNM's you won't make much money at all. Then its all about lotting if you do that you could just had extremly badluck sometimes.

          HNM's is the same case.

Bard is not the greatest money maker if you are using killing abilities to do it. If you really wanna farm that way I suggest you find a farming partner. 50/50 split is much faster and because you are a bard both of you will never rest.

          Granted drops are good me and my pld friend can make a decent amount in a short time ^-^;

I think i should be a little bit more specific. Im sure you have seen Japanese players with A LOT OF gil, some people on my old server had up to 80,000,000 gil (he sold cursed armor to himself for 80,000,000 gil NO JOKE) so im thinking the only way to make that kind of money is from HNMs, i don' think you can farm that kind of money, so is there a chance for a bard to go on these HNMs raids?

HNM's are one way to make some money.

Say if you found an item thats worth 1.5mil at an HNM raid. If you are a spliting the sellable items 1.5mil divided by what? 18 people at least.

If you win the lot on something then you just made 1.5mil. What I'm saying I've been on those kind of raids but you cannot rely on that kind of stuff completely. HNM's to me are insanely fun, and I love going but most of them I come out 0 gil made.

How japanese players make that kind of money. I'm not really the person to ask. But HNM's to me don't really seem the bestest ways. It relys far to much on chance to be your only income.

So yeah. At bard at 75 or even 65+ can get invited to smaller HNM raids (not Kirin but Behemoth). But for money? That makes me laugh. I'd rather have an abjuartion for something.

Of course bards can go on HNMs hunts just like virtually every other job out there.

Also, players make a ton of money off of high level guilding, it isn't all HNM/BCNM.

Yeah, the SERIOUS money comes when you are in a good, proffesional HNMLS. One who camps every HNM and knows every spawn etc... Then you just join up and hunt as many HNM's as you can.

One of the guys in my LS who is an experienced english speaking JP player said that in his HNMLS they have a point system where you earn points for camping and hunting and fighting HNM's, and once you reach the certain amount of points you get 10 million gil and your ponits reset....

Follow this pattern for a year and you have some very rich HNM hunters :D

The big BIG money though, comes from the HNMLS who have at least one person who is almsot at max crafting skill for each skill...many of the drops can be sold for 200k-500k, but lots of them can be crafted into 2-5mil gil drops...

Many people in HNM LS' are rich but I have many friends who are in HNM LS' who have very good equipment from it (mostly rare/ex stuff) but are still not "rich", many of them poor. I guess a lot of it just depends on how the HNM LS operates but I rarely hear about HNM LS' that sell all their items to pool gil together to give to people. Especially with Tulia hunts rewards being mostly rare/ex its more equipment based than gil based.

There was this paladin on ASURA, he ran the biggest and the best HNMLS on the server. He had A LOT of money, he pretty much had the most expensive stuff and at the same time he had VERY RARE stuff, when i say rare i dont mean the ones drop from mobs, but rare stuff as in craftable stuff that nobody else could make.

I guess NA players will have some of these rules and regulations and skills to hunt HNMs eventually but you really need to be disciplined to be able to do all of this.

I've made about 6 million gil from HNMs over the last two weeks. Definately the best way of making gil, though I haven't gotten a craft over 50 yet, so I can't say for sure.

Short of that, you might want to try soloing Demon Pawns in Zvahl Baileys and monopolizing the Chest spawns there, Phalanx Rings come from there and go for 30-50k each depending on your server.

At what level can you solo Demon Pawns as a bard?
