i tried testing the range - it's exactly the same as Harp +1

duration was exactly 2 mins, the same as Harp +1

strength of buffs was also exactly the same (except for minne of course - harp +1 is +2 minne).

so unless it affects minne somehow, it's identical to the harp but without the minne bonus.

Harp is a few hundred gil and has a minne bonus

Technically I guess there is absolutely no point to it but if you do the Bastok quest there is a story to it involving a Bard. You should try to do it, can also get a nice free Siren Flute as part of the series.

yeah i'm working on them but the 2nd quest of the 3 is a nightmare.

chest drops in onzozo, baileys, and grotto - i have yet to see a chest in any of these areas (altho it was easy to get the keys).

also i was mainly hungering for the +2 req flute but now the vastly superior hamelin flute is only like 30k more so why bother with all that work when you can just buy the hamelin?

Honestly I think it only exists to further the storyline of the bastok bard quests.

I have a hamelin flute but I completed siren flute quest for fun, and sold it...

Check all the treasure maps on the web, its not too bad to find the chests and the key drops are pretty easy to get.

Bastok Bard Quests?

Are these related to the BRD quests for AF, or an extension of Mertiare's story?

they are a thread of quests from carmelo, started only after you do the star of ifrit quest AND look at the key item (took me about a month to figure that out)

and some people are good at reading maps , and some arent *cough* heheh, finding chest has always been hard for me, i still have 0 rse done after many attempts
