ya, my BRD gets close to death with "Too weak" sometimes. Brd is by far the worst solo class for farming.

I saw Ballad 2 for about 20k when i started BRD.... just bought it it the other day now for 90k....kicking myself for not buying it early.

there's no reason for a brd to ever die against anything that isn't uber IT++ against them.

Yes, they can't farm as quickly as a say a blm can, but they also can farm higher mobs a lot safer.

Just abuse Foe Lullaby. 1v1, nothing will touch a bard provided you can sleep it. It'll take you 6 years to kill anything, but hey, at least you won't end up dead.

I just got it for 85k, when I was level 40 or so it was 5k

I checked the AH everyday for weeks and finally got it Saturday night.

why not just play a different job to farm with? Must a brd always stay a brd forever or you guys just want to get to high lvs as fast as possible?

Take it easy, enjoy the game. Try different jobs out. The game is a lot more fun since I just gave up and decided that I'll be here a long time and so I'm going to have fun instead of doing the lv 75 race.

Brd may suck at farming but my other job sure isnt.

tried to get it from the coffer with a THF friend of mine, ended up getting him killed. bought it for 80k.

i don't remember for certain but i think when i first wanted to be a BRD i looked at the price and it was under 10k on my server as well.

WOW been a while since i wrote this post ^^ i bought balald II for 80k ARGH t immediatly went down to 60k . this song is eralyl unstable ive seen it jump from 200k-50k in one week. But its worth it...... /drool me and a rdm are the beasts!

Price Drop

The price for Ballad II has come down significally over the last two weeks (Bismarck). If you are going to need this song in the near future, it'd be worth keeping a very close eye on the price history at AH.

I'm not sure what the highest is that it used to be, but I started tracking the price at 90k and bought mine yesterday from 45k. It's been stable there for a couple of days. While it might go down some more, my gut feeling is that it will stay there for at least a little while. I'm just happy I didn't have to pay 100k for it.

But on the price jacking subject: someone (won't name names) has jacked up the price of Jester's Cape +1 from ~120k to 200k in less than a week. There are 4 bards in my LS, all nearing level 54, who are extremely upset about this. =)

Hey, you looked at the monster signas on our server? The prices are totally jacked up. When game came out in october, they were like 150k, now they going for 500k. You think someone is screwing the prices there too?

Stupid auction mule fixing prices.... There ought to be a rule against that sort of thing. Price fixing is totally messed up. They should make it so you can't bid on your own items by account instead of by character.

Oh ya I'm probably going to lv my thf to 50, how hard is it to get ballad 2 via picking locks? it's castle zehvel coffer right?

If I'm not mistaken, the Ahrimans that guard the 4 coffer points at the cross area detect with both sight and sound. So if the coffer appears here you'll have to hope they aren't close or have a method to escape. PD + Warp is fine and dandy but if you don't get Ballad 2 in that coffer you'd have wasted a lot of time and would have to travel, which is ok given the 15 minute coffer respawn period. Difficulty shouldn't be too hard, maybe 1/3 should have ballad ? It's a rough estimate i'm basing it off oztroja's coffer.

On a side note level 50 may be a little too low level to pick coffers, since your chance of succeeding and chance of getting a mimic is directly related to your level.

thx Locke, what lv do you recommend for going though?

and although I'd love to get my thf to 60... there's a mithra thf in my ls with the best possible eq at lv 54 and she's been stuck there for almost a month now. Just can't seem to get a pt invite at all as a thf it seemed.

This has pretty much prompted me to give up thieving at lv 50.... as I don't have a static that can help me.
