BRD/WAR for BCNM 40?

My BCNM party consisted of this:

Elvaan PLD/WAR
Galka DRK/WAR
Mithra DRK/WAR
Tarutaru WHM/BLM
Tarutaru BLM/WHM
Tarutaru BRD/WHM

The PLD runs in and get agro and throws on Invinsible and the BRD runs in and Horde Lullaby's them all with the BLM sleeping the stragglers. We then go after the Black with the BRD constantly sleeping all the Whites. The PLD does everything he can to bash the Flood.

Now, If the Bard dies, we all die. Being as our Bard is a Tarutaru, she doesn't have much hp to work with.

Our first attempt failed due to a few Whites coming out of sleep and killing the Bard and me (WHM) from gaining too much hate curing the Bard. It may just be because it was our first attempt, but it seems that our strategy was solid. We had the Black down to less than half before the stray Whites started wreaking havoc.

Would our Bard benefit from using a Warrior Subjob for a bit more HP and a defense boost? or maybe a Monk subjob for more HP? or are the extra cures from the WHM sub too much to give up?

Another flaw in our strategy was that the Mithra DRK didn't use her 2hr until after the BRD and I died. The Galka DRK went in flaring with his 2hr, Berzerk, and the DRK ability that takes away your hp for dmg (Eater something??). I'm thinking that if the Mithra did the same, we could take out the Black faster. That or we'll find a Monk to fill her place.

Also, next time our BLM is going to do less nuking and more sleeping.



Anyways, for the next attempt, our Bard said that she would sub Warrior. When that time comes, I'll tell you guys the outcome.

monk 2hr is more useful than 2 dark knights.

Today, I was hunting for Genkai item in Eldieme and I was casting Sneak on my PT to pass through an area. I followed them but I forgot to cast Sneak on myself, so I pass through this room full of fallen knight and they all start attacking me. Worst part is that one of them casted Gravity on me so I couldnt run away. I quickly target one and start casting Horde Lullaby. Im getting attacked by 5 Tough monsters at the same time, my HP are dropping so fast Im almost sure Im gonna die. Zap! They all turn asleep and Im left with 108 HP out of 750... I run away.

Im telling this little story because, of all the thing that you can use to help, none of them is better than added protection or HP when you need to do crowd control. Having WHM sub is alway nice, mostly for EXP party but it will rarely ever save your ass has as much as a high CHR and a good amount of HP.

So yes, why not subbing MNK for added HP(only do it if you have the job level'ed tho). It could probably save you more than WHM sub. You should also use poison potion, this will cancel sleep :D

Wouldn't BST fill in ok too? That should Boost HPS some, and give +CHR to potentially help get sleep on all the monsters

BCNM = Burning Circle Nortious Monster
I have done a few of them as DRG and looking forward to doing then as Bard once i get whm and BRD up to lvl
dmg and bard seem to be key, As a Galka DRG i Tanked a few of these and did just fine. but have a bard in good gear with good HP is a must. Flood is a killer ad it is best to have the tank pack on as much +HP as posible.
Another thing is set up a Skill chain with max dmg in mind
with DRG(me) and a Thief/war we used Double thrust >>> Viper bite and I was getting 300+ dmg hits and the Thief was getting up to 400+ hits we also used DRK as 3rd mele.
back line was RDM/BLM, BRD/WHM WHM/SMN.
