bard quest so confused

i looked on the site about the bard quest but im so confused? where is mhaura or whatever her name it? come someone please provide an in depth guide? and i dont know where bururim something is?! aagh confusion =[ head ache

Kweh? I wonder which is easier.. getting 40k or a 31+ skill in leathercraft.

As for the original questions:
Buburimu Peninsula is connected to the Port town of Mhaura, while Valkurm Dunes is connected to the Port Town of Selbina.
By the time you can get the brd quest you should have been to one of these two towns for the subjob quest.

You just go to one and ride a ship to the other.

I haven't read the quest for the bard but, Mhaura isn't a person, its a city in Buburimu Peninsula.
To get to Mhaura, you can either take the boat ride from Selbina OR From East Sarutabaruta--to--Tahrongi Canyon--to--Buburimu Penisula. And if you look on the map in Buburimu, there is a chunck of land labeled "Mahaura." Maharua, is a small town, where the boat there takes you to Selbina.

How accurate is this then with how to do the quest:

Talk to Mertaire, Bki Tbujhja, Ruslan and Tuh Almobankha. Then goto to Mhaura and buy a paper from Pikini-Mikini at

a Warehouse (G-9). Get out of Mhaura to Buburimu and head to location (G-9), you can get there through a cave from a

main beach. You will find a Song Rune. Click on song rune and after the cut scene and trade the paper to the Runes

then go back to Mertaitre in lower jueno. Then goto the to the Valkurm Dunes and at the northwest point you will see

a secret cave, pass through and you will end up at a beach. Find another Song Rune there. Click on the Song Rune and

there will be a cut scene, after the cut scene you'll recieve some gil and obtain the Bard job.

Note: You will need some Gil to buy the paper from Pikini-Mikini at Mhaura! The cost of the paper is about 550Gil.

I found two different sites that say the same thing. No where in it does it mention a parchment...so I'm wondering what the actual quest is

By "paper" they mean "parchment."

Oof, I wrote up a really good guide for this quest because so many people were confused by it, especially the whole buying from Mhaura warehouse. Sadly, the site went down the crapper but i'll see if I can get the guide back... somehow lol.

Common misconceptions about this quest:

- You can no longer buy the Parchment from the Taru in Mhaura's warehouse. Since the Japanese version got Visions of Zilart he has sold the Axe needed for logging and, more importantly, the Samurai quest where it is needed in Zi'Tah.

- You only need one Parchment.

- The paper doesn't cost 50 million Gil like it did on Beta, more around 1000 from Jeuno AH. Remember that you get back 5100 gil for completing the full quest.

If your really that confused heres how you do it.[list=1] [*]Buy Parchment from AH for 1.5k~ (or synthesize it)[*]Go to Lower Jeuno into the "Merry Minstrel". Talk to all the NPC's[*]Go to Burburimu and trade the parchment to the song rune to recieve the Poetic Lyrics.[*]Go back to the Merry minstrel, and give the Poetic Lyrics to Mertiare.[*]Go to Valkurn Dunes, at the top left there is a secret cave, go in it to find the song runes. [*]Talk to the Song Rune to recieve 5100 gil
and your Bard Job[/list=1]

The one on this site is both out of date and incorrect. Unfortunately I followed it before coming here...

I rode all the way to Mhaura before getting the Parchment...had to go to Windurst to get the Parchment. Then, I returned to Jueno and "talked" to Mertaire, and went to Selbina. After a few minutes of shouting curses across Valkurm, I returned to Jueno and "traded" the poetic parchment to him. Then I finally returned to Selbina to get the bard sub job!

All in all it took just over 5 hours...never again will I refer to the listed quest guides on the site. I'm going straight to the forums
