Well in that case, after having studied the situation and employed extreme logic, I think it's safe to say that you're the confused guy, rather than the bad guy.

The thing is, it's not a black and white answer where someone can just come in here and go "Go for a DRK/WAR" unequivocally. There are a lot of variables and intricacies, and no one can really tell whether that's going to end up actually being fun for you. Because the way DRK plays in this game might not end up being what you hoped, which will lead to sad faces all around. The best anybody can really do is tell you about the jobs to help you make the decision on your own.
And in a way, it's a bit of a moot point. You have to get to level 30 before you can become a Dark Knight. That means you have to also get at least one other job to 15, so that your subjob is fully leveled while you're getting that first job (likely WAR) to 30. That's 45 levels of you playing this game before you can even think about DRK. That'll give you a chance to see how things work to a point, and party with lots of different jobs.
And there are almost no jobs in this game that can get away with only one subjob. Almost all of them should have at least two subjobs ready for certain situations; with most it's more like three to six. That thread I linked you to, and the Dark Knight forums contain all sorts of information on it.
But you say you've read those, and you still aren't coming back with specific questions we can actually hope to answer with some reasonable amount of accuracy. "What should I do?" is too vague. Now if you come back with something like "Okay, I've read the stickies, and it looks like Dark Knight is a good match, but I want to know why it's important to have Samurai available as a subjob" or "Why shouldn't I just use greatsword all the time?" then you'll get better answers (even though those are also covered in stickies).
No one can tell what you're still confused about. Specific questions that demonstrate that you've read up a bit get much better replies than trying to get people to tell you what to do.
Ellipses on Fenrir There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.
