That's highly dependant on two things:

        (1) People doing supply campaign ops to Outposts
        (2) Access to these temorary items is nation-specific

If you don't have /WHM, you're pretty much boned for raises unless someone bothers to notice you or have a very high-survivability job. But ever a high-survivablity job is boned when everyone around him is dead.

I don't hate pulling, it just gets old. You're not a 75 BRD yet, so just wait. It will get old. It will get old when they call you "the BRD." It will get old when your linkshell always asks you to come BRD. It will get old when you're seeking to level up on your DRK and some jackass sends you a tell, asking if you want to merit on your BRD just because he remembered you're a BRD. And it won't end until you actually quit BRD or tell your friends "I'm coming as what the hell I want to come as, if you want a BRD, level it yourself."

Its the one few jobs that everyone wants, most people don't want to be and few people play and play well. Its also the braindead easiest job not to screw up at in the game, but somehow people still manage to.

          Re: Campaign, Job/Subjob combinations

I wish my ls asked me to come BRD sometimes. :/

I've been asked to come as something other than my RDM exactly twice in the last 5 months, once we actually had 2 RDMs for Limbus and I got to use COR, the other I tried out BRD for Nyzul Isle(which was absolutely terrible, BRD + constantly moving party = no good.)

If it wasn't for the terrible hit to XP/AN that you take as going BRD I'd love to use it more at Campaign though, if you're in a party Hymnus is awesome.

And I do supply manufacture quests myself lol, those are my RR's to use if I want!

1 more day til Stars #3!

Oh, side note, how I stay high-survivability as COR/RNG: Widescan a Sprite, put it on tracking. There's usually 2 rather close to the outposts, when I hit yellow I run a few seconds out and catch a C5, then run back in.

            Re: Campaign, Job/Subjob combinations

I'm going in Campaign as SAM/PLD. Reason being is my DNC isn't a high enough level to make it viable and my WHM is Lv 5. Honestly it works to keep me alive, but if I get hammered like crazy then I am so dead because I won't have the MP to keep myself alive. Once my DNC is level 15, I'll see if 75SAM/15DNC works. If not, I'll go back to /PLD until DNC hits 35.

              Re: Campaign, Job/Subjob combinations

The hell kind of LS are you in that they don't want a BRD?! And what kind of BRD are you that you can't keep up with a roaming party o- O

Lastly, I've managed to hit 2k+ EXP in campaign on my BRD more often than I have as WAR/SAM >_>

... though going /WAR and using a Joyeuse probably skews that heavily.

Oh and lv 15 DNC won't save you in Campaign dude. You need 35+ for Drain Samba II

Hehe my LS has about 7 75BRDs and only 2-3 RDMs.

And Nyzul Isle Assault isn't a 'roaming party' like in XP lol, the party is constantly moving, as in not stopping at all some floors, such as lamps, and mobs die in 10-15 seconds. The floors are many times tight and maze-like, mages cannot separate far from the melees and still be able to see them for cures, so by the time you get yourself into position to buff the melees or mages separately, the party is moving again.

I started as 65 Blu/NIN and when I reached level 66, I check the the region info to see if there are any resources avalible. If there are resources then Blu/Nin and if there arent any resouces then Blu/Whm for reraise. I average around 1000 exp per campaign. My best was 1564 exp and my worst was 600 exp.

                  Most casted spells for Blu/Whm
                  Zephyr Mantle
Poison Breath (some mobs have a high defense...ie Quadav+ Diamond Hide and Dark Elementals)
Frentic Rip (Does around 200-300 damage but does 0 on Quadavs + Diamond Hide)
Cold Wave (12hp/tick will last a while on non NMs)

Sort of a de-rail, but the topic of Raises got me thinking . . .

You know the new BLU spells coming soon? Well what if, among them, was a Raise-type spell?

. . . For the BLUs' sakes, I hope they don't have to fight the Pixies to get it, assuming the rumor of shared hate is true.

Just to update on this comment, there are pixies trapped in bottles held generally by goblin beastmen in WotG zones, if you take the bottle to a certain point and release the pixie in the bottle, your shared hate is supposed to be forgiven.

                        Re: Campaign, Job/Subjob combinations

To return to the original topic: I tried DRG/WHM, but discovered that at level 68 I don't have enough MP for Raise or Reraise without MP items/food, so I went as /BLU instead. It was pretty easy to solo non-NMs with just Cocoon and Healing Breath, I didn't even have defense gear or food. (Sigil refresh is good though.)

One thing that annoys me: players not organizing. That's probably why BRD gets junk: the devs probably expected you to be buffing 5 people constantly, so if you're not, you fail. I've formed some parties, but I wish other players would get off their butts and form some parties once in a while too. Healers and support characters can get more points if they have someone to support and everyone else can get more points if they stay alive.

P.S. If you don't know it already, you can get campaign ops where your mission is to go fight in campaign battles. That gives you more exp, a *lot* more notes and counts toward increasing your medal rank. Be careful not to accept a mission to attack beastman controlled areas when the beastmen don't control any areas, though.

P.P.S. Whoever it was that liked to cash out every 5 minutes: I advise you not to go to Garlaige. Not every zone has the fighting 3 feet from the NPC. For everyone else though, I pretty consistently get more exp there than anywhere else (although I haven't done much CN or Eldieme, they may have the same bonus).

                          Re: Campaign, Job/Subjob combinations

The problem with forming parties is many people use Campaign as just a manner to pass time till they get PT invites. They'd rather stay seeking then possibly getting an organized party going. But with how people are in Campaign anyway(on Hades at least), people are trying their hardest to get a mob to themselves to solo for the BEST xp. Some are smart about it and grab one running in and by the time people move to it, it's at around 50-70% and odds are they aren't dragging it off that person AT ALL, so they get great xp. But others drag the mob away to a spot not visible from the fort and solo/duo/trio it and make the battle end later than it should.

Anyway, I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary(/NIN,/WHM,/SCH,/DNC,/PLD/,/BLU) in campaign yet from other people. Then again I stay near the bastok zones and Rolanberry so I obviously don't see everyone.

I have found that PLD/WHM is my favorite so far. Reraise and stoneskin are the first notable advantages to that combo. Get into campaign and cast stoneskin and ProIV right off the bat for 40exp. lol.

Also, erase and the -na spells are practically a send from above for those nasty status effects that get handed around.

Finally, the extra MP boost allows me to spend some time curing/raising people while also meleeing to maximize exp.

So far I've been going to campaign as . . .

                              PLD/DNC
Really noticable how you can use Curing Waltz II to substitue mp Cures while your Auto-Refresh and Sigil Refresh work your MP pool back up. Also since your Curing Waltz is a JA, it doesn't get interrupted so that's a huge plus.

                              SAM/DNC
I enjoy doing this with a Soboro to keep my TP up. Sure my WS aren't stellar but at least I stay alive, which is more important to me in Campaign. Also I can tank regular mobs with Seigan + Third Eye and with Curing Waltz II.

For all those combo the Drain Samba 2 is a nice plus. Sometimes on PLD I even use Aspir Samba just to gain some more MP back to throw random Holy and stuff to grab more points from different areas.

I go drg/blu. I can solo most mobs (not the bosses) if I need to. I can survive a lot longer than if I sub war.
