Re: Job with the worst macros
For me, it's often RDMs that have the most annoying macros. I think it leaves a bigger impression since they cast more often than most jobs. If I wish to see what others are casting, I turn the filter for 'actions started on/by party members' to the off position. I really don't need to see you curing, paralyzing, dia'ing, silencing, hasting, refreshing, et cetera...
But any job can have annoying macros. Most recently I had a rng with a <call> in his pull macro, not a call14-20 which are a little less irritating but just <call>. Guess what genius, we're in an exp party, we made you puller, I'm expecting you to come back with a mob and don't need to be alerted to it every time you pull.
Also had a WAR in my old LS that had a macro for everything. I don't care that you're using Berserk, Voke, (.(.(._.).).) or any other job ability. Even had a macro for Tonko. Why the hell would I care that you're casting Tonko?!?
What I find more annoying that exp/merit party macros (since I rarely pay attention in them any ways) is all the flavor and spam macros in events. I set my chat window to have max lines and to hold LS and Party chat at the top so I don't miss important things in dynamis and such. But having 20+ melee spamming Utsusemi macros, boost, berserk, defender, and so forth really makes it pain to see the pullers/leaders instructions. How am I going to sleep the mobs while sifting through mountains of chat spam?
In events I think there needs to be a minimal amount of spam. TP (if we're skill chaining), 2hr for certain circumstances, Stun if theres a stun order; and more specifically for dynamis, 1 (one) single provoke macro so that we know when the paladin has moved to the next mob.
