Alright so heres the thing. I'm leveling a warrior and when I hit level 30 I'm going to be a samurai. Since my warrior job is level 30, and when I become samurai won't I become level 1 again in my main job since samurai will be my new main job? I'm pretty confused as to how the whole thing works, so if someone could explain it to me that would be awsome.

EDIT: Alright nvm So I've been doing some reading. So is this how it goes?

For example:
If I had a Level 20 Samurai and then I wish for my support job to be warrior, but since warrior was my first job that I leveled to level 30, it would be level 10 instead of 30 because your SJ is half the level of your main job, correct?

Alright, another question, lol. Does your support job level up with your main job? And since warrior will be my subjob when I become a samurai, would it be wiser to level up my warrior right now as my main job to 30?

Your sub job does not get XP while it is set as your sub. It must be set to your Main job to get XP.

I would advise raking WAR to 30 if you plan on becoming SAM (or any melee, really). If you intend to take a melee job to 75, you will definitely need WAR leveled to 37, so it just makes sense to do so now.

Your most efficient progression would be:

Level Monk to 18.
Do subjob quest.
Set WAR as main and MNK as sub.
Level WAR to 37.
Do SAM quest.
Set SAM as main and WAR as sub.
Level SAM to 75.
