I was going to post this on the Black Mage forum, but I feel that White Mages and Red Mages can also benefit from this information.
Shoot me if this is old news.
Last night I was in the Quicksand Caves screwing around and getting an EXP buffer as BLM55/WHM27. I was killing Sand Eaters the normal way, and I noticed that I was getting some nice skillups to my gimped enfeebling skill when I silenced them.
After getting the buffer I wanted, I figured I'd try to skill up my enfeebling on one. I went forever on it. I just stood in a safe spot, Silenced it, and casted Dia until it came unsilenced, Silenced it again, and continued with Dia. I would Aspir it whenever the recast was up.
Using a low MP spell like Dia and using Aspir to regain MP, it took forever for me to get low on MP. I imagine that this can also be done for Dark Skill using Bio and Divine using Banish.
I did get low at one point, but the Sand Eaters forget about you easily, so I just let him go and rested. He regened life and MP and I kept going.
I did get hit with Stone III and Stonega II a few times, due to unsilencing at a bad time, but Drain refilled that no problem. The spell he liked to try the most was Quake, retarded worm. I silenced that easily. He got Rasp off multiple times due to it's low cast time, but that's why we have Auto-Regen. Worm TP moves also happened, but they were weak.
The biggest trouble I ran into was no longer getting skillups on them due to my skill getting too high. I'm going to have to find some harder worms so I can cap it.
