    Re: TP change (4/17/2006)

Think this will make THF/WAR a little more appealing?

Unlikely. Thieves frequently pull. Utsusemi = pulling love.

Yeah, I'm aware that Bows and Guns were well above 480 Delay each arrow shot before was like 14 TP have to see what it does now. What I'm also curious though is if the change effected TP gain if "Rapid Shot" activates?

Has anyone done some testing on the mob's TP gain after the changes? It was mentioned in the patch notes that they gain TP differently now too.

              Re: TP change (4/17/2006)

I've heard they gain tp a little more slowly, but I'm not sure and haven't seen any tests so far.
Macht, yes RNG's do benefit from this, E-bow now gives 1.x% more tp per shot than before. I don't think we get a reduction in TP if Rapid shot activates since its more like our version of Double Attack rather than being like DW. Dan did do a test with RNG/SAM and a Rajas ring wit Hellfire. Was getting just over 20% per shot. That would be like Slugshot > 4x regular shot > Slugshot, rinse and repeat. Pretty hot if you ask me, just not sure if dmg is good enough to replace E-bow, that and unless you're using +accuracy food you're going to have trouble hitting a perfect 100% slugshot.
This is nice though, now lets just hope SE either doesnt realize or doesnt care about ranged weapons delay being calculated differently...Shhhhh
Alas, I digress. TP gain has benefited ranged attacks for for RNG's.
I'm betting THF's still stick with /NIN for pulling. (The offhanded +stats are nice too.)
I think someone tested and there is a floor still, I think its at either 4 or 4.5 now.

I'll share my info i got yesterday from rdm soloing with sword...

I dont remember how it used to work, honestly never really payed attention, but now it feels like i get 100% a bit faster, with royal guard fleuret:

                Level: 55
                Slot: Weapon
                Type: Sword: Epee
                Jobs: DRG RDM
                Races: All
                Damage: 33
                Delay: 215
                Damage Per Second (DPS): 9.21
TP Per Hit: 5.82% (old info from ffxi.somepage?)
                Auction House Category:
                Weapons / Swords
                Effects for Royal Guard's Fleuret:

                * Accuracy +6
                * Parrying Skill +5

I noticed i was getting never less than 5% per hit, i got some 6%, and surprisingly got some 7%.... i honestly dont know what this means ._.maybe the 0.xx% adding up...

Thought i'd just point it out, i never payed attention to this, since i only solo to farm.. and lets say i dont farm toooo often D:

                  Re: TP change (4/17/2006)

if you got TP gain per hit ranging from x to x+2% ... I'm guessing they change the calculation to 2 digit chopping arithmetic :/

Becasuse if they only do 1 digit choping arithmetic, the maximum jump you can have is x+1%
e.g : you hit for 4.9% TP (displayed 4% TP) and another hit will give you 9.8% TP (will be displayed for 9%)

from my data on scatter plot (old vs new TP gain)
there seems no drastic change being made for weapon delay between 180~480
very big improvement on 480~530 delay and beyond in general (they shift the TP function up, but have less steep line now)
                  Thanks,
                  Vrytreya

Yeah, I'm 100% positive they use the Math Floor when displaying, but don't discount the extra decimal places when calculating.

what I am trying to say there is...

there is difference from what I know long time ago about TP. I think they use 1 digit chopping arithmetic when mithrael make the post here
                      http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/ran....hnm.gods.html

but now it seems they changed it to 2 digit
                      Thanks,
