So I guess every PLD in my linkshell sucks then because they all tell me they get no where near the EXP the NINs WARs and MNKs in the shell do in burn pts. /sigh

So true. The game emulates life. Things are not handed to you for a half arsed try, you have to work for it.

Unless you don't have to work for it, in which case everyone will jump on the wagon and get screwed when the system rebalances itself. But you can't really write angry letters and forum posts to make SE put all those .com stock prices back.

        Double Post Edited:
Oh, and I think it's more of a "life imposes itself on the game" rather than "game emulates life." It's not the game mechanics that make things behave this way, it's the fact that people are involved.

Good or bad parties are not dependant on the tank. It's dependant on everyone in the party. Even one suckass player can ruin the outing for everyone in that party.

You're just really lucky ... or because this is your HNM LS party you go out with (Meripo'd players with multi-million gils to dispose of and buy the best possible gear you can buy and get the best possible rare/ex gear you can get to drop)

Now, imagine yourself not having this luxury (aka being born with a silver spoon in your mouth) This is the majority of other players out there. So there experiences count more than your own.

                  I'll just end it there.

Wow, considering other threads you posted in response to me, it seems you have a bit of a cork in your rear towards me. Let me tell you a bit about myself. First off, just because I am in a HNM doesn't mean I have millions worth of gear nor that I'm rich. In fact, my HNM is one of the smaller ones on my server. We are also not a hardcore ls. Meaning we don't camp 24/7 for Kings and the like. If the times happen to fall in our timeframe and people are on, then we might go and give it a shot which is rare indeed. So with that said, no not all high lvls are rich even if they are in HNM's. Most of my "uber" equips are rare/ex. Exactly AF2 pants and 3 pieces of Zenith (head, hands, pants), if you know anything about endgame, these are easily obtained equips. I do have a Noble's Tunic because we obtained the drops for it ourselves and have a high lvl crafter in our ls. My back has an Empowering Cape, my waist a Heirarch Belt, one of my rings is an Electrum, and so on, far from having a "silver spoon". If you don't have the luxury of having a tight knit ls, then you have my sympathies. I would not give up my friends for all the gil in Vana'diel.

And where did I say a good pt is solely based upon the tank? The thread is about tanks in particular so the comment is geared towards that aspect. Common sense. Anyone knows that one person does not make a pt, otherwise we wouldn't need 5 more would we? LOL

Do you even read other peoples posts or just throw up a comment recycled from your OP every 10 posts or so? If you go back, we've listed DOZENS of situations in EXP and in Missions where PLD is just as effective as NIN. Sorry, but it seems to me that you're just sticking to your guns no matter how much logic and proof is shown.

I'm not big on beating that dead horse, no matter how long it takes to kill it. I'm backing out of this one simply because I know no matter how many viable reasons we give to change your mind, you'll still cling to your OP. More than likely for no other reason than the attention dragging the argument out brings.

Let me tell you one thing TGM. Every (almost) post in this particular thread, you bring up your meripo static (or semi-static, but it doesn't change a thing since it's the same 5-10 players you'd only want to PT with) into this discussion.

The last time I checked, the OP was talking about PLD vs. NIN from a general perspective. This means that no matter where you are in the game, 10% completed or on the cutting edge with the top dogs of end game, this is [add OP's opnion] what it's about. He never said, "well, if you're meripo'd and 75, PLD is suckage" or "if you're level 10, PLD is suckage."

You already admitted yourself that you had never partied with "strangers" for a long while, ever since you had too many experiences with bad parties. That you were lucky you got into a static, albeit later than most static players.

You give great examples from the time you partied with bad players, but these memories become distant and hazy, especially after all these successful outings you have with this tightknit group of yours.

That's why I had pointed this out in my argument. Nothing in this thread is about anything specific and particular. We're talking in general terms, about 90% of all PLDs would agree with, not a perspective or experience only a handful could ever share.

Also, to that player who was bringing his own experience about being a NIN compared with PLD, none of those jobs (IIRC) are at 75, or at least I know your PLD isn't past Bibiki Bay yet. Someone once told me that level 65-66 is actually the halfway point (in terms of cumulative experience) of any job class (starting at 1 and ending at 75, sans merit pointing) If you look at that perspective, then, you don't have the full appreciation of what it is like at the "end."

Kind of funny since I have 5 characters and I'm always lvling up different jobs on all of them. Just because I talk mainly about my taru doesn't mean I haven't lvled up another job or character in a while. So yes I have had low lvl experience with both pld and nin. My experiences were quite negative when it came to nins. They were either lvling it for a sub and didn't give a hoot or they didn't apply themselves to counting shadows or knowing when to start to cast Utsusemi so it would have the least chance of interruption. I personally think pld is the easier of the 2 jobs to master and so there tend to be a better group of plds in the lower lvls.

FYI, I don't have a merit point static pt. I said I usually pt with ls members but this doesn't always mean there are ls members that want to go meritting. Many times the pt is 1/2 and 1/2.

In some cases I'm being realistic, and if I'm not 100% I guaruntee you I'm trying. I havn't argued with a lot of points made in this thread because they've helped me see it a bit more realistically, but I feel my first post was close to the bullseye.

In other cases, well, it's not that easy to explain. I know you're really referring to the Goblin blog thread, which is all just dork humor. Who laughs at dork humor? Dorks. What happens when other dorks laugh at it? The first dork just feels encouraged to continue. Why? That is the nature of dorks. There's nothing intellectual about dork humor, thus relatively inane. It's like Family Guy scrounging for laughs as if it were searching a couch for loose change. I'm not going to post there again simply because, one: the official description of Movalopolos proved me incorrect, and two: there's no point in arguing humor. All I can do is encourage you to raise your standards.

Well, this is definately off topic, this whole thread seems to have peaked.

From the general gist of your post I'd infer you were talking about ninjas pre level 37 and Utsusemi: Ni. Now, whilst I'm not going to rush to the defence of the ninjas you partied with, as I don't know them from Adam, I would point out that prior to Utsusemi: Ni ninjas are a second rate tank at best and generally require a blink partner to successfully bounce the hate between to ensure a smooth xp gain. Paladins on the other hand can do what they do best, stand there and take the hits and pray the rest of the party is awake. Same thing they do from 10 through to 75.
