Literal just about to start the game-which race should i be? Help!

I am think of being a Galka, as i want to be in the heat of the battle. But i am unsure if i would be welcomed in a party later on? Would i?
What r the benefits? Can someone please shed some light! Thank you in advance!

any melee job is great for a Galka, especially WAR, might be hard to get a party if you went with a mage job, Galkas have limited MP. I always love having a Galka tank in my parties

So i should be a tank? taking the damage and and giving it? What other job would you suggest?
I was thinking of being a warrior. Can you change it if you do not like it later on?
I was goign to ask about the subjob but i might as well wait till i'm level 30!

I feel happy everytime my tanks are Galka. Especially Ninja and Paladins. They can really give me a sense of security for some reason :p

They don't need to tank. I guess everyone is giving you that advice since tanks seem to get faster parties. But if you work hard and impress people with dmg you can get pts with friends as dmg dealing.

The Str is just slightly less than Elvaan but not so much that it's noticible.

There are plenty of guides for each job in the forums.
Plan on taking War to 30 and either Mnk or Thf to 15 as it's subjob.

I think every job that lacks mp, they are Awesome in or at least have a easier time with.. which is most of the DD catagory.
If you want a job with mp just be prepared to go out and do the Rse quest and work on earning some other items with +mp. I've seen some Galka Pld equip macro the gloves for example.

I know they don't have to tank. you can do both!
I tried to do a macro on my pc version for provoke.
here is what i put=
/ja "Provoke" also tried /ja provoke.

But they didn't work? Can anyone tell me what it is? Thanks.
