Best Soloer?

Bst does have HQ pet broths >.>

We don't necessarily always need pets in the area to solo.

Sea Horror = pwned
NM skeletons in eldemine necropolis = pwned
Avatar primes = very tough but a bst can solo it, much easier now with the merit call beast timer reduction and relic gloves if you ever get them.

Just some of the examples of stuff that bst's can solo in no pet areas.

Despot = pwned, very risky to solo but no one else can do it at all, usually 2 bst do it very safely. I have not seen any other job even attempt this.

Oni Carcass = pwned, a nin would do just as well here.

Jelly Ring NM slime, I've had friends that soloed the the ring for themselves but it took them some 3 hrs to do it.

I haven't tried to solo the NM demons like marquis alocene (sp) in castle zhavel baley's. But it's an interesting challenge. I'm curious if anyone else tried to solo that guy with another job.

I've also heard of bst's that have soloed ash dragon as well as lord of onzozo. But I don't have any proof of this though it would be a tough fight but I can see it winning.

No bst I know of has soloed serket though but I'm not sure if it was a matter of loosing claim or whatever. Bst/nin works the same here I'd guess if he packed lots of potions.

Unguar, vouyer (sp), Guvire, and bune, I don't know if they are soloable but it'd be one hell of a fight. I see potential but I haven't been that sucidial.

I think most ppl don't give courier carrie enough credit.

Which NM's can a rdm or nin solo that a bst can't?

Well mostly the highly camped NM's like aquarius not because the bst is too weak. It's mostly cause ass hats come by and steal the NM between pet swaps.

I don't know of many NM's that are soloable by a rdm/nin that a bst won't be able to as well. Anyone got a few off the top of their head?

Also to clear up a misconception about phalanx:

It won't save you from an EM or tougher NM.

By all tests done on the rdm forums, and personal testing, phalanx really only knocks off maybe 5-10 damage per hit.

Awesome spell for farming too weaks that hit you for something like 20 damage a hit and below. Slap on stone skin and you're good to go for a long time farming these things.

End game mobs hit for 150-200+ damage per hit. Weaker NM's will smack you for around 50 damage. (I'm not considering very weak NM's like hoo muu ju. Only considering lv 50+ nm's.)

An up to 2-10% reduction in damage is nice but doubt that will make or break you as a pld/rdm. You got 1300 hp, / 120 damage per hit with phalanx, that'd run you some 10-15 hits before you die. You got cures but not that much MP.

Better to go as a pld/nin and blink tank things. That one works much better. You see pld/nin tank fenrir. pld/rdm doesn't work as well.

At my level, phalanx reduces 20 damage a hit. 75, a Rdm with 300 enhancing will reduce 30... The difference between using phalanx and not, when fighting an EM or Tough, is enormous

I go for the RDM because as you can Melee the creature you can also heal yourself and do some real magic damage as well. So i find that is also the best job to fight any kinds of monsters

It's all situational. Thieves/Ninjas can fight some mobs I can't fight, I can fight some mobs they can't, same goes for a Beastmaster. Every job has their weakness. Throw a ninja or thief against a monk mob, they go down. Throw a beastmaster in eldieme, there's nothing for them to charm. Throw a red mage against something that hits insanely hard, we go down.

If I have a choice, I'll definitely solo with Thf/Nin just for treasure hunt. What else do you solo for if not for drops?

Actually, if a PLD has a Vermillion Cloak, and solos with a maxed skill earth staff, he can solo very well. Everytime they reach 100tp they can do spirit taker to get back lots of MP. Add in the damage reduction from the earth staff, and a jelly ring if they have it, and they have decent survivability.

Special arena (burning circle, ect) mobs.

RDM/NIN is no doubtedly the best soloer. With 3-4 levels of fast cast which reduces the recast on Utsusemi a LOT, coupled with the best Stoneskin/Phalanx to cover if shadows fall, I don't see how any other combo has better survivability.

Done both THF/NIN (30~45mins for sewer syrup) ;3

Sounds like BS to me, I've seen how Ash dragon rips through the mobs there. There isn't enough lizards near him.

Seriously with enough medicine they can do a lot.

Most NAs don't think about that, as they believe it all comes from emty pockets.
