I, for the most part, gave up trying to instruct people when they're doing something wrong; it just ends up getting me more grief in the end. I can't exactly nit pick my parties either playing the job that I am.

Actualy, its very easy to fall into that hole as a mage. As Red Mage, I used to consider myself 'awesome' for a little time (+25 MND and +22 INT at lvl 50 without food will do that to you). Its realy easy to become arrogant.

But I am happy to say that I got off that cloud pretty quick after partying with an other Red Mage (therefore a 2 RDM party). He had me singing to myself "I was lost, but now am found. Was blind but now I see."

Mages get less criticism that the other jobs (maybe WHM gets the most out of all the mages), so its easy to not know if you are good or not, or even think that you are good while you realy are simply mediocre.

I guess that was a bit off topic. Just wanted to express my thoughts in the path I am taking and the goals I am setting for myself for RDM. All advice and suggestions I recieve are welcome if they are delivered in the proper manner...

    (some ranting)
(I still do not tolerate people that shout "Refresh!". I usualy take a few a fight or 2 to demonstrate to people the fact that I know when their Refresh wears off +/- 3 seconds. When they see me start casting "Refresh" and have the spell *land* on them the instant after the log says "xxx's refresh wears off" shuts them up)...

Anyways. Thanks for the support guys.

Ive experienced far more stupid mages than stupid melee personally. I just think stupid melees are easier to spot than a stupid mage. Smart melee usually invest a lot of time and money into being good and choosing good equipment. Anyone could just be thrown into a mage job and be "acceptable" despite equipment. But im very critical of fellow mages compared to melee, mainly because i can make a poorly equipped melee pretty good, but i cant really do much for a crappy mage aside from give them more mp to screw up with.

This is a funny topic. I was standing at the Lower Jueno AH on Fenrir the other day, and shouted:

"Vote for which class has the most newbs:
        1. DRK
        2. BLM
        3. WHM"

        I think atleast 15 people pressed 1.
