Guys. Why is this such a catalyst subject? Read the subject line: Do you think we will ever *see* male mithra one day??

We got the part about the story. We got the part about them not being playable characters. We got the part about self-conscious people that would prefer not to play female characters. We got the part about people with "problems". We got the part about the people without "problems".

Why do all these things come up over and over again?

Do you think we will ever SEE a male mithra one day? I don't care if the Male Mithra is in shown in a photo frame, as a figure in the clouds, or inside a Mithran retirement home.

WHERE ARE THEY? That is the question that presents itself.

Male mithra character I invented and doodled while waiting for my Windurst Mission 6-1 group.

The theory I built around this character is that the male half of the mithra population is nearly extinct, and thus kept isolated in a secluded village deeper into the Yhoator/Yhutunga Jungle. There they live a spoiled life and goes through a breeding ritual every second month or so (speculated on full moon festival...).

Harkoth here is a rebel. He ran away from the village, hid aboard the airship and eventually ent up in Windurst wich he made his new home. Got trained as a Black Mage by an eccentric anarchistic War Warlock who liked his attitude.
He operates as an undercover secret agent for Windurst, mostly doing dirty work for the ministries.
He has a triggerhappy, selfish and carefree attitude, violent mood swings, a hate towards Elves and religion in most forms as he is an ateist with strong arcane-scientific knowledge. He is a great follower of Ajido-Marujido and his opinions and works to keep his research on the Ancient Hortotu Ruins Magic alive.
His carefree and violent nature along with his arsenal of Black Magic usually results in whatever task he is sent to do ends up with massive carnage and a large crater.


For the record, the neck and chest got horrendously deformed. It's at times like these I feel like I should learn to sketch rather than directly ink stuff. <_<

Ok so perhaps that haiku wasn't helpful. I don't think Square-enix will make male mithras but I'm sure you can keep asking them. Just roleplay or whatever to get through it.

This is pretty much my stance. Mithra are hermaphroditic (being one of both sexes for those of you whom have not heard that terminology). A lot of doujinshi out there agree with this theorm, but then again those are japanese artists with a lot of spare time on their hands.

So basically...you can believe the following:
1) There are male mithra, but they're in the mog house area where no one can look around
2) There are male mithra, but they are permanently locked up in sex chamber areas
3) There are no male mithra, Mithra are hermaphroditic.

Ok, I just figured maybe S-E just said that because it was easier for their customers to believe.

There has to be lots of male mithra then, since there are several thousand mithra. Taking into consideration that many mithra choose to be single and would decline male advances.

They are never seen;
Yet in theory they exist.

There should be a mentioning of males by npcs to disprove the hermaphrodite theory. Maybe a quest to clear up the misunderstanding.

However I doubt Npc's will mention male mithras or have a quest to prove/disprove any theory. Either call it laziness on S-E's part, or the fact that male mithras or herm theory would appall the general public who just want their catgrrls, but not their catbois.

Really, I don't understand why some people feel the need to be as rude and annoying as they possibly can.

Anyway, back on topic...we may see male Mithras one day, but only as NPCs...I don't think it'd be feasible to add in a new character type at this point...not to mention how terribly unfair it would be to those people who wanted to be male Mithras, but had to settle with being female or a male of another race since male Mithras weren't available at the time they made their characters.
