For one, the majority of Palin's posts are in the BLM forum. I obviously don't have experience. And though you wouldn't know my job levels, that could be seen by the fact that I have hardly ever made a post in that forum.

Secondly, his avatar proves that Palin is a high level player on my server. Considering how many people post and view this board, somebody would say something to him. It'd be extremely stupid for somebody to impersenate a popular player on this board considering how somebody is going to talk to the original player about one of his posts.

You turned this thread into a flame war by you knowing Skywing would get pissed at the sight of you "trolling" his posts. Then you return with a barrage of flames from multiple people, which is just you.

I'm not taking sides but I fail to see "flame bait" on his enitial post.

My first post had no flame in it, as you can clearly see.

His post back to me was a flame. However, he edited it out.

Sky wing started it, then edits it all out to make it seem like I'm the bad guy. Might have been a good job if you didn't forget that it says you edited your post and when you did it at the bottom!

Anyway, there's an any problem to this solution. User CP > Edit Ignore List > Add SkyWing_ and his mules. :spin:

It just so happens War is my second favourite job behind black mage, excuse me for viewing the War forums a lot to research a job I'm interested in playing, so I don't do something dumb like sub rng past 30. That perhaps is why I post there a lot, not because I'm Nny's mule. How silly.

wow, people bashing ZQM. I've been in the WAR forums a lot. I plan to make WAR my secondary job once I level NIN and stop spening all my money on my DRG. ZQM posts are of great quality. He's always has great advice. Sure he may brag a bit at times, but who cares, we all do that.

Anyways, back on topic. As someone said before in another thread, "It all depends on how gimp you want to be." Sure I could level my WAR without NIN sub and crappy gear, but I'm choosing not to. I'm sure we've all seen it. Just down right crappily equipped players. Expecially if your an "in depand" job, you can get by being gimp. There is no such thing as "required" equipment. But there are jobs like NIN or RNG's that are expected to have geat gear. Only HQ weapons and armor, ect. You may consider them to be the expensive jobs, but I'd argue about that. Part of the reason why RNG is so good, is they geat all the great equipment. Let's take DRG, most people think they are gimp. Ignore the fact that our WS's suck, think earlier levels for this example. Imagine if most DRG's had HQ lances and armor, sniper's at lv40, ect. I'm sure the job's reputation would be MUCH better. You'd see this player with great acc and dishing out good dmg. If your going to compare the cost of jobs, you have to compare apples vs apples. Now, imagine a RNG with non-HQ gear to any other meele with regular gear. The RNG would suck. They would be missing too much. Every job could be equally expensive, but it's the reputation that makes people think other jobs are most expensive. On the high end, there are some exceptions. NIN/RNG spamming shurukins(sp?), for example. Most people can't afford that though.

Back on topic, I'd say Red Mage is the cheapest, because even if there gear is bad past lvl 41 as long as you have refresh and can enfeeble you still get a waterfall of invites. X.x

I believe monks. they can use food with options, but their armor options are not only small, but they're usually light and such. WAR requires heavy expensive armor and weapons, while MNK is simply not ^^.

With BLM and WHM, you use LOTSA gil just to pay for spells! some of which you may never use..

I think it really depends on the level range you're talking about:

Most every job except for Ninja is cheap in the 1-30 range (relatively speaking).

30-50, RDM takes a few hits in the form of Phalanx (unnecessary except for farming at this point), Dispel (expensive NPC scroll), and on some servers, Refresh could be somewhat expensive. WHM takes a money hit on Erase if they want to in this level range, though they can delay it if necessary. PLD, NIN, RNG, and all melees all have really useful, really expensive items in this range, if they want to spend the money (sniper's rings, strider boots, etc. etc. etc.). Ninja expenses increase as they get access to Utsusemi: Ni at 37, as well as some of the more esoteric ninjutsu like Kurayami: Ni.

50-60, armor costs drop to nearly zero for all jobs due to Artifact Armor. PLD's only expense in this level range is basically a nice weapon like Gluttony Sword. BLMs and SMN get to spend a big chunk of change on elemental staves in this range to be optimal, though you could get by with just a few if you're careful. WHM get to splurge on Raise II and Reraise II in this range.

At or after 60, each job has a bunch of optional gear which can greatly enhance their performance, so it really depends on how much you want to spend, not the job you're playing. Melees can get things like Scorpion Harness... mages can buy Vermillion Cloaks... every job has choices like this to make.

Honestly though, the entire point of this thread is pretty pointless - you should play the job you enjoy most, not base your decision on how much money you have to spend on it.
