Ancient Sword - what do you think?

I just bought one. The curse effect doesn't seem all that great. I understand there is an HP/MP penalty on victim... does anyone know the exact effects of curse?

My plan for it's use is to equip it until the curse kicks in, then WS and swap out.

I'm starting to think this sword is better used for HNM fights - since an HP/MP hit would be more significant.

I think if it's like any other weapon proc the mob will be dead before it goes off.

Curse effect happens fairly often. I just wish I could find more data on the curse effect. Ancient Sword is somewhat rare - I spent 470k on it. Right now I'm not sure about keeping.

Well, I know curse slows down your movement speed. Perhaps that is all it does when used against a mob?

Doesn't curse last for like 5 min+ on PCs? I know against the rank3 Dragon it lasts for 40min+. Plus add Gravity and it seems it can really help Marathoning.

Yea, that's exactly why I got it - because I've experienced curse and it sucked. My max HP went from 1004 to 820 or so (I couldn't heal past 820ish). It lasted at least 30 minutes...

Monsters actually recovers from the curse very quickly. However, the damage to his HP and MP is already done.

I thought I would see a noticeable chunk of HP dissapear, but it doesn't seem like much at all. Also, hitting the mob with curse multiple times does not seem to have cumulative effect.

I've only been skilling up on easy mobs. I still need to test it out in an exp PT. So far, I'm unimpressed.

I also need to walk back into Eldieme Necropolis, get cursed again, and see if I notice anything else.
