Why don't you invite Dragoons into your parties?
Why don't you invite Beastmasters into your parties?
    etc...
Try to keep it to the less partied jobs for whatever reason.

Whm isn't my only job, it's just my highest. And what does that have to do with anything? If your going to reply, atleast say something along the lines of the question asked, no need for posts like yours.

And yet another reply not desired. Why do you even bother replying if you have nothing to say along the lines of the main topic? Ofcourse this topic was meant for party leaders.

I don't go out of my way to not invite a particular job.

I have certain preferences - I would always take a RNG first for a damage dealer slot. But if there are no RNG seeking at the moment, I'll take the DRG. I won't wait an hour for a RNG to log on.

Beastmasters. Very few of them ever LFG anyways so this is usually a non-issue.

I mention BST because I was playing BST for a few levels. Untill a missinformed WHM joined our party and complained about lost exp being caused by me. And then when I proceeded to tell him the truth behind BST he blacklisted me. And this is a first, you didn't mention DRK before DRG....why?

man, there's no need to flame the shit out of people not posting exactly the kind of responses you wanted.

DRGs don't have very good WS's later on and have no pulling ability. They're just another melee, and the ease of killing their pet makes them a liability.

Most people have invited BSTs into their pt's one time or another. If they don't use pets (or use underpowered ones) they're a halfass melee, and a lot of the morons seeking as bsts tend to try and get away with it. People who see this proceeds to never invite the job again.

Realy? I thought that for BST the only thing not going their way for party invites is the (GOD DAMNED SOB!! (*&@#^#(@)) fake information in the "official" guide book saying that they hurt party experience.

Other than that, I think the BST can be useful if they fight and use a lower lvl mob (Decent Challenge or so) to fight, they would be doing more damage than most damage dealers...

Was I mistaken in this assumption?

                    As for the original question:

I tend to invite all kinds of jobs. I don't happen to NOT invite certain jobs. Its just the way I form the party that gives other jobs less of a chance.

                    Example:

Step 1: Look for Tank. Options: PLD, NIN, WAR.

                    Step 2:
If PLD or WAR: Look for MAIN healer. Options: WHM, BRD, RDM, SMN (combinations of these until it is enough healing power).

                    If Nin:
                    a) Look for healer. Options: RDM, WHM, SMN, BLK/WHM (combinations of these until it is enough healing power).
                    or b) Goto Step 3.

                    Step 3:
                    Look for Utility Classes.
                    a) Bard, RDM.
                    b) THF (especialy if NIN tank).

                    Step 4:
                    Look for Damage Dealing Combinations.
                    a) [DRK, MNK, SAM], [DRG, RNG, NIN], WAR, PLD. (yes, I prefer them in that order for just PURE damage dealing. I just don't like RNG that much because

                    b) (MNK + SAM + BLM). or (SAM + SAM + BLM). or (DD + SAM + BLM). (RDM may take spot of BLM). MB!! stuff. After these I just go with the Damage Dealers like normal and hope I can get a BLM in to MB...

Anyways. That is more or less an outline. As you can see, I get to Damage Dealers in Step 4 or so. And when I do I have a big range to choose from and I think of how they would work together more than how they work apart. I agree I just leave it up to luck on the combinations, but when I have 1 job on the party, I try to complement it with an other.

[NIN, PLD, WAR] and THF compliment each other for hate.
SAM compliments other DD for Skillchains.
THF#2 (if there is one) + DRG for SATA damage + hate shedding.

I have to go, but I hope I illustrated a picture you can understand.

                    PS:
The only job I did not think of putting on there is BST and the reason is that I only partied with a BST once so far in the game and I never see them seeking. Therefore I did not want to rate them or put them there without me knowing exactly what I mean to say...
                    Modnar

                    Melee:
                    43 Monk; 25 Warrior; 20 Theif; 10 Dragoon; 11 Dark Knight; 7 Ninja.

                    Mage:

You specifically said you don't form parties. If it's not your party, why are you inviting?

to start pt you need 3 mages 3 melee

forget the backline(mages) now cuz they find pts easy
so you have 3 frontline 1 is pld
2 slot left for damage dealers
most people i know prefer melees at this rate

                        1- rng
                        2-drk
                        3-war
                        4-sam
                        5-drg

sam get pt easy if there is more than 1 mage can MB
mnk can be number 1 or 7 depends on the mobs your fighting with
thf can be number 2 or number 7 depends in pt setup + the player equipment/race/
drg can get pt almost only when there is no others seeking or the pt need trick partner

and to be honest i have created more than 300 pts XD i have only invited drg to my pts from 50~60 after lv 60 i dont even think of them
the reason why i dont care about drg is there 2 hour is almost useless cuz there pet die after 5m >.> and they do half the damage that drk/mnk do also they have shity equipment/ws

                        Main : Sephiro
                        Mules : Sephira Eviljin Sephon

For the most part, 90% of the drg's stuck at 60 have HORRIBLE equipment, there loudmouth's, that'd i'd prefer not to deal with, and of course there are the good DRG's, but even in that scenerio before 65 we don't have a renkei worth a shit. Problem solved, DRG's don't get in my pt, that'll change @ 65 tho when we can Dragon Kick > Wheeling Thrust for Light renkei, but ONLY if i know the DRG

ask anyone on rag, i'm not jokeing about the drg situation

I've never once seen a bst seeking, simple matter they don't get pt....

                          There, are you happy now?

I invite people I've partied with before and I know wont crap out on me like so many others have.

As a warrior I like to invite a paladin so I can do some damage, then a thief to make everything run faster. I also like to invite other warriors because I sympathize too much. I look for black mages so I can have a warp II.

I don't like dark knights or dragoons. Dark knights are too cocky and never have up to date armor, so they get randomly one-shotted. Dragoons have Wyverns that lag me... I don't like lag.

So there you have it. Pld and Whm is a must. Thief is a luxury, and I try and invite some other warrior buds because with warriors nobody dies. Warcry + Warcry + TA/SA = Win. Then throw in a couple more Avalanche axes and you won't find anything left standing.

I noticed how ranger and monk never came to mind, which is because there are none at my level. Wierd.

Was that soo hard to make a post about the topic?

Thanks all for clearing this up. DRG WS suck 60+, and for the lower levels not getting invited is because of the PT's incompetant leader. My BST not getting invited could be because I'm still only level 22 with the job and don't have summon pet yet.

Again, thank you all for sticking to the topic and keeping the posts decent.
