  • Combat skills capped in blue?

Okay, I am wondering if when you raise a combat /magic skill to max till you gain a level is in blue color?

My freind says its not capped just best skill that class has.

See I played a monk to lv 10, to try out class.
I switched to Red Mage because as a Taru, I've be better as you'd guess.
Now I've noticed my evasion is in blue and pretty high every level.

Is it max for my level is is Evasion a Red Mages best Skill? (I'm thinking its max for level but I want to make sure)

Oh secondly, is it just me or do crawlers gang up on Tarus?
I was casting Dia on one Decent Crawler and both attacked me before. Also as a monk I hit one Even and two attacked me. Is it because I'm a Taru Taru or because I'm unlucky?

Re: Combat skills capped in blue?

Some skills will tranfer over to other classes. Let's say as a lvl 10 Mnk you have 30 evasion. Well a lvl 1 Rdm has a evasion cap of 4 evasion. Your rdm's evasion will be capped until lvl 11. At that point evasion will be white and you can keep leveling it up.

Evasion isn't a red mages best skill, it was just a skill that just tranfered over.

If you alternate between mages say for example getting rdm to lvl 10 and you get healing, enfeebling, and elemental magic high.. it will be capped for awhile if you decide to go blm or whm.

Caps are made so you aren't to powerful for your level. If you're evasion transfered over without being capped at the lower level you would evade to many hits and get exp to easily.

Two qualities of monsters are Aggressive and Link.

Low level Crawlers aren't aggressive but they will link. If you attack one and if it has some friends nearby they will join in to attack you. Knowing this don't attack a crawler if another crawler is close to it.

      For skills:

All skills will be passed onto the main, say if I sub WAR to MNK, I will have shielding, sword, dagger, etc, even though I can use none of those. As for mages, say for BLM/WHM, you will get the healing magic lvl from WHM, but you can't lvl it, because it's not a skill your main job naturally have.
Blue color means the skill is capped, not it's the best of your job.

      For monsters:

A lot of sub qualities to aggro if you want to know:

-Sight- Yagudo, Orc, Hornet, etc - They agrro what is infront of them, you can easily sneak pass them from behind, pray that they don't turn though. Invisible spell will stop them from aggroing even if you run infront. There are also different type of sight aggro, such as:-
--Night vision: normal sight range in morning, but long range in night.
--Long narrow vision: yagudo mainly, they have long sight range, but it's narrow-er than other sight range.
--Split vision: I read this somewhere, though I have yet to see one, it was said that some monsters can't see you even if you are right infront, but will see you when you are to its side.

-Sound- Crawler, Quadav, Pugil, etc - They aggro to sound, but it's somehow weird; so don't think like solid snake; you will get aggro as soon as you are in range, rather you are walking, standing or whatever. Their range is a lot wider than sight, it's 360 degree around the monster most of the time. Sneak spell can allow you to dance infront of it without getting aggro.

-HP sensor- Undead - They aggro as soon as you hit yellow hp, rather you are sneaked or invisibled don't matter, they aggro nonetheless, plus the range is extremely wide.

-Magic sensor- Elemental, Weapons, etc- Aggro as soon as someone cast a spell, be it cure or whatever. Range is wide as well, and same as HP sensor, sneak/invisi doesn't help.

As with all aggro, their range decrease as you lvl, so an easy prey won't aggro until you are real close to it, though an incredibly tough will attack before you noticed.

As for link, they will link if they are close enough, not related to lvl, I don't think.

Please correct me as you wish. And I hope this help.
