Are boys and girls thier own gender in FFXI

i'm one of the few actual female mithras i know, though one of my old male buddies who played a mithra before he quit (Anger, we miss ya buddy) even though he played a mithra, we always felt he was a male mithra disguised as one of the women to get away from the matriarch society of Khazam. e really roleplayed it that well. All the other "mithras" i know chose the race for RP'ing fun or the race's stats.

I'm female in real life and I play a female hume. However, there are many times that I've wished that I had started a male character because I get hit on all the time. It's really annoying. I've played male characters in almost every MMORPG I've played just for this reason.

I've tried out playing as female characters (mithra and a female elvaan, since I think the female elvaans look cooler than the males), but in the end it just makes me... uncomfortable.

I think it is TOTALLY up to the player -- don't misunderstand me -- but for me and me only it just doesn't feel "right" to be a male playing as a female. So, I play as male taru and my alt is a male hume.

But that's just me. What you (collectively) choose for yourselves is up to you all, of course!

Why couldn't a guy play a Mithra for the stats and a girl playing a Galka...for god know why... (im sorry I dont know what are teh galka stats cause I never wanted to play one.. )

It all depends on the person and what they want to be as a character. I personnaly didn't like the mithra and galka to much. Wanted to be elvaan. but as a RDM it would of been harder.

The difference of another's gender and in-game gender shouldn't make a difference to you. Unless you plan to like... have cyber sex with them. Then you would be the weird one.

Personally, I play a Mithra and a Male hume. I play the Mithra because I love cats, simple as that. I'm not gay, I'm not that femenine, I just like cats. This subject really annoys me, lol

The gender of the character you choose has little to do with your sexual orientation. In fact, with a comment like that, I'm inclined to question yours...

i remember being in this videogame/anime store with a friend and this guy came in looked like 50-60 y old and he tried Chrono Trigger / PSX version on japanese and bought it ^^
