Are boys and girls thier own gender in FFXI

Do most people stay their same gender in FFXI or do they become the other:confused:

Majority of mithra are guys. Quite a few guys play female chars. I'm sure there's a couple females that play male chars, but I think most of them just play female chars. So many just play whatever.

in EQOA (sorry i mentioned it, not a good game in my opinion) i picked a girl dark elf, and so many people gave me free stuff. maybe thats a reason why guys use female chars. I wasnt planning on going heavy on EQOA so i didnt care, FFXI i am going heavy on so i did a male char.

i only give people items... if they are friends. or if they are new players to the game. like i met up with some people from england when i was lvling up my monk yesterday. they just imported the US version and i gave em both 7k ^^. told em to try out the auction house and look at the weapon shops. also to look into crafting if they want to ^^.

I don't give items/gil to people just cause they have a female character. I give free stuff to alot of males also. I like to help~

I do *try* and give alot of things to a female character I play with everyday, but she turns me down.
