Which path woule be better?

In the end, I plan on being a BRD/WHM. I just want to know what I should do to get there the easiest and most effective. Should I . . .

1 - Level White Mage to 18, get a Black Mage as main and sub White mage. Level the Black Mage to 15 then get White Mage to 30 to get Bard.

2 - Level White Mage to 18, get the Red Mage as and level that to 15 and then switch back to White Mage until 30.

3 - Level Red Mage to 18, sub Red Mage and put White Mage as main til 30.

4 - Same as number 3, but with Black Mage instead of White Mage.

5 - Other, if you have another suggestion I'd like to hear it.

The easyest would be

Level black mage to 18, level whm/blm to 30~37, level bard/whm.

Black mage is easyer than white mage to get to 10 with, and once you are 18 and start leveling white mage, it will be alot easyer with a black mage sub. You will eventualy need to level your whm to 37, so starting with blm to 18 will allow you to do those 7 levels with a maxed sub aswell.

Also those first 18 levels as a blm who basicly just stands around and does its own thing, (useing skill chains at that kinda level usualy doesnt work out well, but you may even get a chance to get in on a renkei and MB somehting=P) will let you observe other whm healing so you get an idea of the er.. ~flow~ of the game from a much more forgiveing standpoint=p

Its anoying leveling your sub, if you do this you wont have to change from whm to blm then back to whm. But can isntead just be a blm then a whm untill you get bard

With a Whm, you are going to get a group regardless of whether or not you have a sub (below lvl 20 anyway). Since Blm's have a harder time finding a group, I would say wait to level that second so it will have a sub.

Also, you only need to raise Blm to level 14. Once you're 30 you will be doing the bard quest anyway so an underleveled sub once you hit 30 won't make any difference (again, especially as a whm)

Lastly, the 4 levels going from 14-18 to level your future sub's sub takes a while and would be pretty much wasted. True, eventually you'll need to get your Blm this high. But that won't be for a loooooooooong time (if ever). So you may as well take the quickest/most efficient way to becoming a bard so you can start having fun leveling it.

The time a whm saves 11-18 would all but be negated with the time a blm saves 1-11. BLM are just less monotinous getting to 10 than whm, and whm/blm is alot easyer to get to 10 than just a whm.
