!please Help Me!

I've been checking out FFXI websites and message boards to get the inside info on this game and so far it looks GREAT. I havent gotten the chance to play the BETA but from wut ive seen and heard about it, im all ready to buy it when it releases in US. Despite my excitment about the game release, i'm still confused about a few things after reading and learning about the game. Ive been thinking about what im going to make when i get in the game but the job system confuses me...i had a few questions about that. First off.....How many jobs can you have at one time? Ive seen people posting about having like 5 jobs on one character at one time. Second, how does a sub job you get at 30? become your main? i mean can u just be a war for 30 levels and then get a sam sub job and just make it your main?? I'm feeling kind of overwhelemed about the number of combinations and changing classes and such. I thought at first the main/sub job was cool, but as i gathered more info on it i got confused. One last question, how is exp. split between ur main/sub job. Because it seems you can level up in both of them. Well if someone could help me with these questions that be great! P.S. WHATS AF?
