Why the dislike for Tarus?

After looking over this post, I keep seeing that Tarus are not as liked as other races.... Why is this? We have a gigantic MP pool, and for mages it seems we are the best. We do have low HP, but that shouldnt matter if you are in a good party, since the mages shouldnt be hit more than a couple times.

Probably because they resemble children... The thing is I think people in RPG's enjoy seriousness and realism... Melee Taru's REALLY annoy me, the armour looks scrunched up and it's stupid how they can still do damage, I mean they're so physically weak looking it doesn't make sense... Same with Galka doing Magic/Ranged... I just really don't appreciate it..

On the other hand I think Taru's as Mages and Galka's as Warriors is fine, it makes sense...

At first, I was going to be Elva'an, but I saw them in game and they were really ugly. I decided that I should be hume.

No race is better than the other...they all have pros and cons. My personal fave are TaruTaru cuz I love mages....they've never been used ina ny RPGs, they're cute, despite their looks theyre strong (which is funny). I must say as a japanese female gamer that we can predict your American choices so easily. Square even said that they expected Humes and Elvaans to be the most popular races. Many ppl say humes are the bust cuz they suck at nothing...did they ever say that they excel at mothing either...no. I'm not complaining I'm glad US gamers are picking Humes n Elves cuz the Japanese public prefers Taru n Mithra. And may also say that a mog would be a cool race. How would that work? They all look the same...maybe you could change the color of their pom poms or their body but thats it (neways every1 would want to be a regular colored mog) and they all have the same facial characteristics. I dont like the lankiness of Elvaan but theyre still neat.

If you picked Galka based on the character creation screen visuals (and the animation), you seriously have to be brain dead. Dont' know what I'm talking about? Go create a Galka and sit through the animation sequence...it's hilarious.

Elvaan are the best: so elegant, sleek, beautiful, handsome, strong, and regal. Who cares if they don't have the greatest stats (at least for me, I'm a mage)? They're so confident that they can pull off anything! ;-) ....and they can.

Taru are so cute and original! They make me smile! :-D

Mithra are also very original and interesting, and pretty. :-) I like the flowing tails. I really hate that Square made them a "slut" class though. It makes me really, really mad. -_- I'd like them a lot more if people didn't run around naked. They look really sleazy and gross.

Humes bore me, but some of them are good-looking. Sort of. I like that they're balanced. I don't like that they oppress the Galka. I have a Hume character too but again he's starting to bore me a little. :sweat:

I actually like Galka because they don't need as much healing as the others, but some of the character models for Galka are really horrendously ugly. X_X I do like that Square added an oppressed class though--it makes things more interesting for roleplaying. I could never play a Galka myself, though.

Good point but i honestly don't think it would be that hard to work around. Looking at the game itself people don't really have a problem with the "whole everybody looks the same" scenario.

i just like the mithra alot, none of the hume designs appealed to me, the elvaan look terrible imo, the taru are cute and are a second fav for me and the galka would be okay if not for that tail...

I love their look, and they are good at most melee classes.

Only wished a lot of the immatures online wouldn't grope so much. I think it is time to use the /blist add tool.
