  • FFT job classes in FFXI

If any of u played FFT which job classes from there do u think would be really cool to have in FFXI
(Example Dancer, Geomancer, Oracle, Time Mage)

F.Y.I. Warrior would be like a Knight, and Ranger would be like a Archer. Not the same abilities but in general the same concept.

Which Guest Job Class do u think would be cool to have
(Example Holy Knight, Enigineer, Assassin, or Dragoner things like that)

F.Y.I. since a Holy Swordsman is a Holy Knight, a Dark Knight, and a Divine Knight dont post him.

OH by the way F.Y.I. Dark Knight and Holy Knight(Paladin) are already in there so dont post them either. Once again not same moves but same concept.

I have been told Blue Mage is supposed to be entering the game sometime, which was not in FFT. Lancer is actually a Dragoon. One job I think was over looked is "Chemist". But they prolly ruled that out because of it's weak melee combat. I would love to see Time Mage, but there's already Time Mage spells in the game I think.

I'm pretty sure that Haste, slow, meteor, and Demi aren't in the game..

Well, if they add a Time Mage a lot of the spells will be redundant. Both Haste and Slow are already in the game. Slow is learned by white mages and red mages around like level 10~13 (can't remember). As for Haste, it's learned by white mages at 40 and red mages at 48 (Yay, I can use that now!). The Meteo spell was very briefly shown by Square a while back, and it's a level 200 Black Mage spell, supposedly. I have still yet to see Demi, though.

Oracle wouldn't work either since most of the debuff spells are already in the game, with Red Mage being the best job for using them. The Magic Knight (FFV) with the ability to give elemental properties to weapons is also already in the game as a Red Mage only spell (well, Ramuh can use it too but that's beside the point) so that rules Magic Knight out.

Dancer would just be the opposite of a Bard (female version), but I don't think Square would add a gender-specific job into the game for the sake of not being sexist. Even if they did add it and allowed males to use the job, it would be rather odd to have men dancing in front of a monster in an attempt to weaken it with an excessive amount of male hip movement while you and the rest of your party tries very hard to ignore the masculine dancer. I suppose Square could add the job into the game for entertainment value, but not everyone's definition of "entertainment" is the same.

I guess Square could add Geomancer, but I still fail to see the point in using ice magic in the glaciers against Ice Elementals, or using fire magic in a volcano against Fire Elementals, or poison type spells in the crawler's nest against bug type monsters.

I think Geomencer would be great but I don't know. How many types of terrain is there in ffxi? I don't think it will happen because Geomencer will be the easiest class to master. Think about it in FFT I say in 5 battles can master all the terrain attacks. Plus the attack was weak but they did add the side effects to it (Red mage already has that). But do you really think a Geomencer would be useful in hard fought battles? I don't think so....

well you know, just like how they expanded the abilities of the redmage.

Maybe giving them some axe abilities, since they use the axe. Or make them do indian type stuff (native American) because in FFT the geomancers looked kinda like Indians... cause they wore animal leathers, and moccasins. :p
