  • Limbus etiquette?

Please explain, as I'm a Limbus newb....

What does a typical alliance for Limbus look like? How are the zones generally played?

ie: Dynamis in most cities = BLM group, DD group, Tank group

    How is Limbus different/same?

    thanks in advance^^

    Re: Limbus etiquette?

Different zones benefit from different approaches.

For example, Apollyon NW strongly favors a BLM x n + refresh setup, while many zones can be handled by merit/WS spam party with a SMN in second party for Carbuncle pulling. SW has a nasty Treant boss which heavily damages the front line, so extra healers are really nice there--else bring a RNG heavy setup, or a tank party plus BLMs carefully nuking.

Though our group does not use nuke heavy setups outside of NW, it looks like manaburn should also work for many zones where we typically use melees as the main source of damage. Generally, no "tank party" is needed until Proto-Omega/Ultima.

Yeah, what Ifrit said. Wiki has a pretty good guide that I used when I led my limbus shell, I would recommend you look at it

        (1) Be on-time
        (2) Remember to have 15k for the entry key item
        (3) Be flexible.
        (4) Be nice and help people kill Yovra afterward, this will score brownie points with BLMs, SCHs and CORs.

On the third point, be flexible with your job, no griping about what subjob you might have to bring. I can understand why people complain about generic combos for certain events because it certainly can become monotonous, but Limbus is generally a short and sweet affair, so its easier to tolerate.

On the forth point, I always regretted distributing coins after the event was over, because people never stuck around to help people down Yovra for organs. Jerks. I should have held the coins hostage.

Well did my first Limbus last night, they wanted me BRD and it was fun. Reminded me of the Promy days. We had 15 and easily blew through mobs. Last area we got to in apolloyon was a few floors up, and we just finished killing cluster mobs when the timer expired. I was hoping for a SMN AF drop, but I ended up with BRD so I'm not complaining. Pretty soon I'll have my Choral Cuffs +1. w00t

I don't think it's fair practice to expect someone doing Limbus to do Yovra hunting.

              Limbus =/= Organ Farming

Even as a Blm I would never expect help from my Limbus shell with Yovra. I hope your comment about holding ABC hostage to get people's help was a joke.

Of all the End Game I would say Sea Linkshells would be the best launching point for Organ Farming, but even then it should not be done on Event time or expected/required imo.

That's great. 15 is a good number for a Limbus shell. Eventually you can learn how to do two zones at once by splitting your group, and still have everyone in zone available to lot the drops. This will collect chips faster and be able to do Omega and Ultima with more frequency.

Things that helped me last night:

1.) Stick with your party at all times
2.) Do not open chests (let leaders open chests)
3.) Only let the designated fisherman pull the mobs (there are orders some mobs need to be pulled)

All I did was Min/March the DD's and ballad the mages, pretty easy job for a BRD. I found out that most of the mobs were impossible to sleep, which means you'll pull a shit-ton of hate with failed Lullaby-ga lol

Yes, hecause you'll totally get people out to Sea to do it when there isn't an event.

                  Go on, just try.

You know how many groups and LS groups I've tried to form to get people Yovra organs? People are scared shitless of the things. If its not JoL, they're not going near it.

But this will eventually be mid-game content. so fuck the people that didn't want to help. Go on, go work on that soon-to-be-obsolete gear.

i really do hope most future endgame content is low-man based. I want to see current endgame die the painful death it deserves.

All of the Yovra farming I have ever done was with members of my Sea shell, in spare time, and members of my social shell.

I agree with Solymir. People signed up for limbus not Sea. All of the Yovra farming i did were with people from my Limbus shell after the run. We'd get a RDM, and as many BLM's as we could. 4 BLM's is enough to take them down pretty quickly.

i think my limbus shell gets angry if we kill for organs.

It's kill the flower then get to limbus. Sleep anything that aggros. It may be difficult to farm organs but people are there for AF+1, Coins, Homan/Nashira gear.

Which is not the order in which I was advocating, but after the event. See, when the payoff happens, that's when members stop caring about really helping the group. They've "helped" in the sense of endgame, they don't care about building up their team in other tangible ways to improve them.

Endgame help is bullshit help, you're be there for the event and what it offers. You're not there for the group, really.

Sticking around and helping others tells me you're really committed to the group. To me, doing the things you don't have to do means a lot more than showing up for what you were supposed and expected to do.

Its fine if you have some RL business to attend to and have to log off, its fine to have another event LS to attend to - but to go run off and EXP or dick around in Whitegate when you have a chance to better part of your group is distasteful to me.

As I stated earlier, people signed up for Limbus, not Sea farming. Just because someone doesn't want to stick around for hours after a designated event to help you farm, that action is distasteful to you? I think it's distasteful to feel players should be obligated to stay after an event especially when it's not what they signed up for.

Now, if when you are signing up for a Limbus Shell, the leader (which i assume is you the way you're talking) tells you that after the run you are required to hang around for X amount of time to help farm organs, that's a different story. However I feel that's not what has taken place...

Sorry to hear you feel like that kitten, I kind of agree with Mezlo. My LS helps for helping sake though, from time to we do farm yovra's for shits and giggles as a group. During sea time, but it's not required to help. Most if not all people help because it's fun. Requiring that you help with organ farming to get your reward from an unrelated event sounds kinda silly. If it's like pulling teeth to get help, then maybe you or they are in the wrong LS?
