    this.

Really, it's just different mentalities. Some people like their life being taken up 100% by an LS and like being told what to do. Some don't...

ITYM "nothing that the actual members, and not just the leadership, don't want to do will get done". I know a quite RL-friendly ls that beat up a bunch of KS99 turtles just last weekend, for example (we only got 1/6 egg drops, but that's not really related to the LS's attitude or whether or not the leaders respect the members).

Whenever I'd say I had to log because something came up, the next time I logged in I got the cold shoulder and major attitude from people.
Sounds like a bunch of assholes.

But when I talk about endgame ls's from my point of view, they were ls's that didn't allow you to have additional endgame ls pearls.
Yep, definitely assholes. Controlling behavior is the first sign of an abuser -- a fact that IMX remains true online.

If the leader of my limbus shell told me to blow off my Nyzul static to farm organs after limbus, I would not only refuse, but think twice about staying in that shell. Which would suck, because I like that shell. But I trust the leader not to do shit like that.

We did have a couple days where we farmed organs *instead* of Limbus, after discussing it in advance, which I thought worked out ok, but any time you try to stretch *beyond* a LS's regular time slot, you're going to run into a zillion people's scheduling problems -- both in-game and RL.
Defeated: Maat, Divine Might, Fenrir, Kirin, Cactrot Rapido, Xolotl, Diabolos Prime, Kurrea, 9/10 Dynamis Bosses (missing Tav), Promathia, Proto-Ultima, Proto-Omega, 4 Jailers, Apocalypse Nigh, 6/6 Nyzul Bosses
      RDM90, PLD90, DRG90, COR90, SCH90, BLU54
All Nations Rank 10, ZMs & PMs Complete, AUMs Complete, Captain, Nyzul Floor 100 (5 Weapons, 4 WS), Medal of Altana, WotG Mission 15, 1/3 Addons Complete, 9/9 Abyssea Main Quests, 6/6 Caturae

Oh, "The Hills Are Alive", right? It was fun for me. We strategy used a PLD kiter, and I was that kiter.

Is that really considered endgame, though? We did that KS99 in my social LS with some help from some friends. Not a single egg from from those five, six orbs, though.

I have a Shadow and a Snow Gorget--but the Limbus LS I run with has not done a single UFO hunting session before or during its regularly scheduled times.

Oddly enough, it turns out that my friends were happy to help with the organs, both with UFO and others. Of course, before I had SAM and wanted the gorgets, I also helped out with UFO farming needs of others. Funny how that works, with friends reciprocating assistance over time...

Perhaps the Limbus leaders who would arm twist members to stick around afterward to farm UFO are the type who don't have real friends in game? Or perhaps too jaded to believe in friendship to begin with? heh.

Well, yes and no; the thread title is "Limbus etiquette?", after all, and the tangent is mostly about whether it's proper form to make people stick around after Limbus or not on the leader's current pet project (such as organ farming).

It's not what's asked in the OP's content, but hey, the title is so written, and... umm... I'll blame BBQ for starting the derail--I only helped after that.

          Re: Limbus etiquette?

Well the ls's were high end endgame ls's that I was in and not a separate Dynamis, separate Limbus, separate Einherjar, etc. Since the ls did all of the things that some people do in individual ls's, there really was no need to have another pearl to another ls. Now some people had social ls's that they joined on off times or our off day but only if they announced that they were going to switch, either in ls or privately to a leader. Having a pearl to another competing ls was an immediate kick in the ass. You also had to fill out a pretty lengthy app, give references, and, if you were approved, had a trial period too.
