    Re: The Rudeness

I think that part of the reasoning for a PT leader to select a place is familiarity and being totally lazy.

Most players (read: 99% of every server's 5,000+ active player on roster) do not have a secondary form of equipment set. I don't mean swapping in rings on a cast or renkei - I mean having another gear set (And multiple Support Jobs) based on the possibilities that one might have to go to a camp that usually they don't go to.

This means that, instead of subbing NIN, a SAM may find that having /WAR might work better on high evasive, but highly inaccurate, enemies. At this point, having Berserk, Double Attack and Provoke might come in handy over casting shadows. It also might mean having more +acc instead of packing the usual +atk/+STR gear. This is just a crude example, as I'm sure others here can bring up even better examples to illustrate this point.

Bottom line, it seems that Vana'Diel is just inundated with a lot of lazy players. The ease of which exp is gained in ToAU areas is really a double-edged sword. On one hand, meripo goes fast and easy, but on the other hand, most players would be at a total loss if forced to come up with a secondary exp camp instead of their usual Imps for lolchain250lol exp.

      Re: The Rudeness

I almost fake DCed on a party the other day. I was seeking on WHM and was doing some stuff so I didn't feel like building a party. I was at 55 and got an invite. Someone sent me a /tell for a party and I accepted. They were gathering in Jeuno so I headed there. Once we formed up we were about 5/6 and someone asked where we were going. The lead suggested Terrigan. They then explained they couldn't go to ToAU zones because they didn't have the expansion. A couple of us politely suggested they get that taken care of as a majority of players 55+ will want to exp in sanction zones. We moved on. Well when we finally started to move out I found out the leader didn't have the map and didn't know how to get to camp. They also couldn't understand why our 6th wanted to outpost instead of meeting us in jeuno.

In the end I took the high road. Instead of ripping into the lead, or simply leaving, I took them to Rabao and showed them the map npc. Then I proceeded to walk them to camp. In the end the exp was ok. Then, 30 minutes into the party (which had taken 2 hours+ to gather and camp) our two jp players disbanded and warped with no warning. lol That sorta killed our party. Both were lfg in Whitegate less then a minute after leaving too. lol
