    Re: Long freaking Besieged!

Likely, SE wants players to go into the strongholds and kill the NMs. They are probably tied to the Beastmen Forces, likely, less NMs would appear.

      Re: Long freaking Besieged!

Last night we had L8 Mamool Ja and L8 Undead Swarm at pretty much the same time. We got the message saying that the Mamool Ja are going through Wajoam Woods, then two minutes later the same one saying that the Undead Swarm was advancing. Tons and tons of people stayed up really late for it, started about 3am. About ten minutes in, the Trolls were preparing and were at about 105. I stayed up until about 3:45 then went to bed but left my character logged in.

I got up at 9am, checked my computer and the Trolls were just beginning to advance and they had only just finished the Undead Swarm attack. These L8 attacks are designed to be lost unless there's 700 people in Al Zahbi. I have never, ever seen so many monsters coming so fast, or so many corpses lying around the place. There's going to be a point where people will lose interest or the attacks start at bad time and the Astral Candescence will be lost. You simply cannot defend against L8 without solid commitment.

        Re: Long freaking Besieged!

I really think that they need to place beseiged in prime time, whether it's NA, EU or JP prime time. I dunno with so many people playing you'd think that they have enough defenders when they attack.

Oh Remora lost the Astral Candescence 6/5/07. Sometime in the evening of NA time. Damn those sexy undead!!!

Yeah, aftet the maint we had L8 on all 3....I only stayed for 3/4 of the first one...it lasted for freaking ever.

All 5 generals went down in the 1st attack, I know they retreated but I can see us haivng defended the AC for another 2 full on lvl 8's.

I havent logged back in since so I dont know the situation on Bahamut....

If you can defend the generals, L8 doesn't seem to last much longer than L7 to me. If the generals go down, it's going to last for-freaking-ever regardless.

Why though? If they generals go down, shouldn't it be easier for the Beastmen to take the AC?

Well yes, but it takes longer to win. When the beastmen kill the generals they get a time extension. At least, that's what I've been given to understand.

Rather, I should have said when they kill a general they get a TE, and the minimum time for besieged goes up, regardless of force strength. I don't know if anyone's taken the time to nail down the exact mechanics for it, but it seems like besieged ends either whenever the beastmen force drops below a certain strength and a minimum time span has elapsed, that time being based on the level of the attack and extended by some amount based on the number of generals that are absent.
